I'm so confused; according to some of the usual suspects Max is nowhere near the standard for the Champ and they have resorted to constant derision and criticism for months.........

Makes you think that they may have no idea what they are talking about....those who shout loudest etc.

Mcfadz and Biamou stand out.

Great result, we needed that

I thought James and O'Hare were contenders as well. Think the consensus will be McFadz and Max and they both played very well.

Nope he's put in decent performances all season in the most difficult position on the pitch - stepping up a Division as a lone striker in a team that isn't dominating possession.....just that some are too biased and blind to see it and prefer to write our players off and be derisive.

Nope, he's had some shockers, but why should I be expected to be negative about him the day he has a good game and scores the winner, because some fundamentalist is determined to pick a fight on behalf of the big lummox.

He had a good game mate, dont go getting carried away now.
He's shown what he's capable of, let's see if it continues, or if he disappears up his own backside in the next few games.

It was just a 2/3 months the same lot were saying they rated Baka as third choice ahead of Max. Clueless.

He can't head the ball remember. Yet he won every header today.

The Derby defence were horrendous though.

They are literally squirming today and finding it hard to still give him credit.

I’m buzzing from the result and in such a good mood but if you think Max was man of the match over O’Hare then I’ll find you make friends with you, get in with your family, make your wife fall in love with me and leave you then make your kids call me dad instead of you. You’ll end up with a restraining order because we’ll make some shit up about you then I’ll take your kids home and away every game so you can never see city again.

the Max debate is getting silly, he was great today, let's just enjoy.
If he can play like that every game from now until to the end of the season, and let's be honest, he hasn't put a run of good performances together yet, then it's going to go a long way towards us surviving.
Personally, I'm a big fan but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve some of the criticism, but he's been with us for most of Robins return so he's a legend in my eyes.

See, I thought he had a great game, actually managed to score the winner and worked out how to finish and, equally, held the ball up well at the end when we needed an outlet. Fine game.

Why can't I just say that without some loon deciding that he has to be the gallic adonis every single fooking time?

Let's be honest it's difficult in this league for strikers to string 2/3 good games together consistently ( usually those strikers are playing in the top 6). We havnt won to back to back games all season.

It seems from some, however, you're expected to believe our players are a winning combination of Puskas, Maradona, and Moore, and any criticism is a sleight on their character.

I mean half the time, they are indeed a combination of those players, but they are all pushing up daisies now!

His goals record doesn't lie though? Great performance today. If he gets 4-5 goals between now and the end of the season then fantastic but that means bucking the trend of his football league career.

So do I, but he's a cheap option who, let's be honest, has probably reached his level playing for a relegation threatened Championship side.
I hope he's playing elsewhere next year because we've signed Pukki and Toney!

think your 8 for Pask might draw a bit of comment. I thought he did OK when he came on though he lost his concentration a couple of times and got caught out. Osti to the rescue on one occasion.

Wilson 6 - nearly gave a goal away with that pass to Hyam but did well otherwise
Dabo 6 - not up to speed yet
McCallum 7 - playing against a good winger and came out on top just
Ostigard 6 - some reasonable defending but terrible passing. He really needs to improve on this if he is going to play at a higher level
McFadzean 7.5 - excellent
Hyam 6 - OK defensively but should have been more alert with that Wilson pass
Kelly 7 - much better than midweek
James 7 - played well and nearly scored
Hamer 7- looked better than of late and like him in this role
O'Hare 8 - brilliant early on, made the goal and some great control at times
Biamou 8 - great finish and coped well on his own up front.

Pask 7 - best I have seen from him
Allen 5 - ran around and lost the ball
Sheaf na

Allen went on a run within a couple of minutes of coming on and ran out of steam and I posted a sarcastic comment but to be fair after that he played really well after that.
It was a decent ball by Max with the outside of the foot but just a little too far ahead of Allen, you're right though, great run.
