Wilson 7

Clean sheet. Couple of decent saves. Decent shithousery by putting the goal kicks in the wrong side and such. Would have been an 8 but distributed poorly at times.

Eccles 8

Kept the bloke who’s added to his name for some reason quiet. Decent runs. Ok then, 8 you get.

Rose 7

Can’t recall any mistakes (oh hang on that one where they had a chance because of a defensive rod-up and their guy spooned it - was that Rose ?) Clean sheet. Assured of n the whole

Doyle 8

He looked like he was controlling the back line. Oddly, that might suit him given that his fellow backs were also about 20. I guess he’s used to being a leader amongst young men if you know what I mean. Alongside Fadz he gets a dad complex. I’m waffling. Good game.

Panzo 8

Did well cut out attacks. Bombed forward. Yes. Good game. 8

Bidwell 7

Just ok. Final ball shocking sometimes but showed some maturity.

Hamer 8

They dug at him early and fair play to him for not taking the bait. Last few games he’s ran at them rather than playing the Hollywood pass.

Sheaf 7

Some really good mopping up and tidy play. Final ball selection lacking. Better.

O’Hare 7

Energetic but kept running into blind alleys. We are better with him on the pitch because he draws players all over the place. Missed him early season.

Allen 7

Got the goal else a lower mark. Runs and tracks but if crowded will most often lose the ball. Compare to Palmer (who could have played instead). Scored but spurned a couple of golden chances. Last year he had a bit more spring. Maybe carrying a knock.

Gyok 6

Rather have him in the side than Bereton-addedname but a bit off the boil. I think SkyBlueBeliever told the defence how to play him to keep him quiet.

Vik looked like he was still poorly.

Defence looked so much better than Saturday. In a way its brilliant to win without big mcfadz.

Panzo looked a player again.
I do love doyles little runs forward
Rose looked better too.
Good assist from Eccles, not the long term rwb we know but can fill in whilst kane gets up to speed. Eccles I want in CM

Gotta say Blackburn looked drunk at the back today. A razor sharp attack would have put 5 past them but I'll settle for 1 goal, 3 points and off we go again

Nope just from Ifollow and his mistakes. It's easy to rate him higher because we won and Diaz did nothing in the second half.

Great all round performance. I can’t really think of a player who didn’t look on it which as most have been ill was immense. Panzo MOTM for me but plenty of others would’ve been in with a shout. Also a special mention for Eccles playing against one of the best in the league and did a decent job as well as setting up goal.

And of course the fact Eccles played so well meant Diaz did nothing ? Honestly give it up , giving a player a 4 in a winning display is pathetic , trying to justify by saying the player he was up against played poorly while giving his defensive attributes no credit is equally pathetic
And he set up the winning goal ………

All opinions. The majority had the same opinion on here at half time. Because we won, does not mean a player should be rated higher than what I thought all game

To be fair he laid one on a plate for Allen second half when could easily have had a go himself. There was one at the end when he had 2-3 players around him and held on too long but to me he looked done (knackered). Not his best game but probably still not 100%l

Aii 8 except Vic 6 and Hamer 9 Vic too greedy even for a class striker players waiting for pass in the box more than once Hamer for those passes into the box splitting the defence O'Hare and Allen could easily had added to the scoreline.

pusbccfc What has Eccles got to do couldn't just be because he was so good that Diaz was so bad please when they have a good gamegive afair score on that game not previos games.

That first half was brilliant, I'm struggling to think of a better half where we've dominated a team like that this season. I'm giving it to us rather than against Blackburn.

We needed that goal before HT and I'm very happy that it was Allen. I thought every single one of them can be happy with their performance

As downtrodden as I was after watching the Blackpool game, this has restored my faith with a vengeance. We completely dominated and outplayed them.

O'Hare is just the bollocks.

Outstanding all round. No bad performances, Panzo and Hamer the clear picks for motm. Most disappointing was the Blackburn fans. Blackpool didn't bring many more on Sat but were much louder.

Really pleased for Wilson and another clean sheets after sat, came off his line sharply a few times and a decent save from the free kick. 7 clean sheets in 9 now.

First half everyone was 8s and 9s. Hamer, Sheaf and O’Hare all superb.

Second half there was definitely some tired legs out there and we weren't as energetic going forwards but the defence were very solid - Rose and Panzo in particular

If you look back through the match thread there were quite a few posters saying Eccles did alright in that first half.

Panto just gets man of the match for me. The improvement in him tonight from Saturday was night and day. Although the whole of the midfield played really well. Doyle looked more solid as well.

Wilson definitely looked more confident and thought he came off his line well. Hope he keeps that up. Vik still feeling the effects of the bug I reckon but did ok. Palmer and Walker put a shift in too when they came on.

Hamer was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch until he got crocked on the far side from me (didn't see what happened, hope it's just a dead leg or something).

His ability to make space for himself is second to none in this team.

Sheaf 10. Amount of interceptions was ridiculous. Agree with Grendel that he owed us it as he hasn’t been anywhere near the level he can be in most games this season

The rest

Wilson - 8 - much more assured and decisive

Eccles - 7 - solid game. Got done once or twice in first half but up against one of best players in the league. He’s not a bad wing back at all despite preconceptions

Back 3 - 8’s enjoyed how progressive they were. Able to find out midfielder more often partly because of how poor Blackburn’s pressing was

Bidwell - 7 - just very Bidwelly

Hamer - 8 - had so much space today. Love seeing him run from deep

Allen - 8 - what a lovely man. Doesn’t have all the talent in the world but has 7 lungs and a massive heart

Ohare - 8 - that first half showed the difference with him in the team. Able to comfortably take the ball on the half turn and turn defence into attack easily

Vik - 7 - worked hard and great bit of play to set up Allen in second half

Palmer - 7 - busy

Walker - 8 - really good cameo. Looked strong

Just back from game, long drive home. Hamer was magnificent, which will undoubtedly delight Grendel. Sheaf also very good. Mention for Rose too who I thought was excellent along with the other two centre backs.

I cannot believe Blackburn’s tactics, did they not watch Blackpool Saturday? Polar opposites.

I bet Hyams passing was superb last night because he never liked passing to our players on a consistent basis ...great to wake up and see we won and a deserved win too by the sounds of it...congratulations to the elf too

Diaz moved from the wing into the middle after about 30 minutes because he had no luck out wide Eccles stuck to him like shit.
Really cant see how he gets a 4 from being out of position a couple of times.
Ben Wison nearly got caught out when he ran out of his box shall down grade him for that or Vik for being greedy on a couple of occasions and losing the ball because he wouldnt pass.
Just a couple of examples there were quite a few.
But hey overall we played the best we have all season at home kept them quiet while letting them play their game.

Excellent performance and well-deserved three points. So many stand-out performances but Hamer was different class for me.

Lots of love for Doyle here and in the match thread. While he has obvious potential, he still makes me nervous. Rose rescued him when he got turned in the box far too easily and he was likely at fault in a poor mix-up that should have resulted in the equaliser. Some dodgy passing too, but one superb long-range pass.

Panzo was far more accomplished bringing the ball out for me and also broke up play well.

Eccles a 4 ? Behave yourself . He was up against one of the very best players in this league tonight and was rarely out of position or exposed . Alongside that he got forward very cleverly and assisted a great team goal

How often was the poor kid left with a 2 on 1 against him?
He had a very decent game

Chalk and cheese from the Blackpool game. I was worried there wasn't enough time for the squad to recover from the collective illness so kudos to all of them.

Wilson - 7
Eccles - 7
Rose - 7
Doyle - 7
Panzo - 8 (his best game of the season)
Bidwell - 7
Sheaf - 7
Hamer - 8 (hope the injury is only minor)
Allen - 7
O'Hare - 7
Gyokeres - 6 (not his most effective game but still couldn't do without him)

Looking back at the extended highlights, that shirt pull on Gyok following Hamer’s corner was a nailed on pen. He would have swivelled to bang it in else.

I do wonder if refs look back at incidents at half time and then try to level it up in the second - the red card could easily have been just a yellow.

Good all round performances by the whole team, mention re. Doyle he looked comfortable at centre-half against two of the better strikers in the division not saying he should replace McFadz yet but good to see there is adequate cover there.
