Tbf Jersey already play in the Combined Counties Premier League South so they are closer to football league standard.

I’d be up for a Britain league with Scotland and Wales, would be nice. Would be nicer if we had high speed rail to Scotland though.

The merge would be difficult, I think only Scottish teams would gain from this tbh.

Yeah, probably, but that’s no bad thing. It’s not really a football opinion I guess but more a political one, would be nice to treat Britain as one and Wales is already there. Get people up to Scotland and then down here a bit.

I think Northern Ireland would be keen to join and it would be nice for Belfast to have an elite club that was a unifying force for good in the city.

Why are our fans absolutely obsessed with playing players out of position

So many fans I've seen mentioned playing EMC as a 10

The notion that Wright playing wide on the left was new to him is wrong. That's where you'll find him on most of the highlights reels from before he joined us.

To be fair Wright himself said he had to learn the position this season as it was new to him.

Henry attacked from the left
Vik attacked from the left

Neither were wide left players …..

No I'm saying he mostly seems to have played very much from the left side even before he joined us. What some people seem to be assuming though is that he was bought as an out-and-out centre forward, which I doubt was the intention even though I expect he could do it.

Clearly from the player's quote (which I hadn't seen before) we have asked him to adopt a much more definite wide position with new responsibilities, which makes sense and I'm more than happy to acknowledge it

Wright looks 10x the player on the left, but I would back him to be the same player in a 2 partnered with Simms

No he played as a striker throughout his youth career. Like many young strikers he was thought to be too lightweight when he first broke into the senior team and played out wide whilst ge adjusted to men’s football.

Can we agree that if we play a forward three we play a centre forward and two inside forwards rather than a centre forward and two wingers?

We play a front 3 when everyone is fit of
Haji - wide forward
Simms - Striker
Tats - winger
So its assymetrical

It will never happen and would be a financial disaster if it did. Firstly some EUFA/FIFA members have long resented the fact the 4 home nations each have a vote and have wanted the UK to be only allowed 1 vote.
Secondly and perhaps more importantly imagine Inverness playing in the same league as say Exeter and Plymouth, you are talking of a 1200 miles round trip. Sods Law they would be drawn together in both cups as well.
And if you just took Celtic and Rangers out of Scottish football, interest in the Scottish league would collapse, and Celtic or Rangers would lose almost certainly their Champions League football, which currently they are always virtually guaranteed.

Well there wouldn’t be a Scottish league. That’s the point. There would be a British league.

You say a 1200 mile round trip is ridiculous but we’re quite a small country, how does it work in Spain or Germany or France? Do they split the league up?

As a Fifer and a non old firm supporter it would be the best thing ever to happen to Scottish football.

You guys sitting afar have no idea how much these clubs are despised by the rest of the Scottish football supporter base, every thing (bad) that happens here is because of these two clubs.

Scottish domestic football (you can also make an argument for the national team too) was at its best with two leagues, every change to the leagues structure was done at the behest of the Old Firm for dubious reasons, i.e. cash!

I dunno? Is there that much difference between Newcastle or Plymouth and a Scottish team?
