Ranson on why Boothroyd had to go

Coventry City Chairman Ray Ranson has said that Aidy Boothroyd lost the City dressing room.

Ranson who appointed Boothroyd last May said to the CT: "I think the results speak for themselves and to be fair to Aidy we had a few injuries and suspensions pre-Christmas but Aidy has a certain style of play and it is quite obvious that one win in 16 that the players are not responding to that.

"That's my observation and before the situation deteriorated even more the board decided over the weekend to make a change.

"As I said, you could hardly call one win in 16 a knee jerk reaction.

"People might say it is a knee jerk reaction after nine months but this football club wants to get up to the next level and next stage and the last thing we need at this moment in time is to be in a relegation battle.

"As we stand here today I am not overly concerned because there are ten games to go.

'this football club wants to get up to the next level and next stage and the last thing we need at this moment in time is to be in a relegation battle.'

were never going to get to the next stage with lack of investment and funds in my opinion!

ERR HELLO, We are in a relegation battle, and the fact Scunny and the blades have 10 games left to catch us is certainly keeping me awake at night.
Then again i give a shit about this club!!

Boothroyd lost the dressing room so got the sack. Sisu have lost the fans support so.......they remain to screw us over again. Same time next year Sisu, same time next year.

Lost the dressing room? As in the players didn't like him any more?

How exactly was he meant to have the dressing room? I think we actually played some good football under Boothroyd at times but with our thin squad we have to resort when we have players covering who are incapable of passing a ball properly

Was it something to do with the whole King situation do we think?

no point bashing SISU. I think what Ray has stated is spot on. My only concern is that I am not sure the Team could play a more expansive style will no decent width

Exactly. There is not much that could be done with the squad we have and with the injuries as well

It doesn't matter if we have mourniho at the helm if the board fail to back the manager then we will be going nowhere fast.

After two managers, many players and constant failings in contract negotiations I think this goes higher than Ranson

He even looks like a slimebag.

Poster boy for SISU.

This 'Aidy lost the dressing room' crap is a poor attempt to get the fans on side with this decision.

I agree with him - the last 2 home games have been absolutely aweful. The players have shown no spirt or motivation which any team needs.
