I can see people drifting back to certain games and eras (like I'm doing) - always thought Shearer was going to score against us (especially at St James Park and Ewood). Also seemed to remember Steve Sutton getting a few as well (though somebody will probably correct me!)

If someone hasn't scored for 16 games they'll no doubt score against us. I remember steve Staunton scoring one from about 40 yards for villa

I'd go with this.

We could play a Sunday league team that hasn't won in 5 years, and they'll win 1-0, with a goal from their GK

James Hansen for bradford. Always plays like A world beater against us. Always mugs us off.

Kevin davies as well. He always takes the piss out of our defence.

Paul Peschisolido, who managed to score for Derby against us even in the 6-2/6-1 matches. His one in the last game at HR was one of the best of the 8 scored.

One outstanding performance that sticks in my mind is Claton Ince's for Crewe at HR. We battered them but he just pulled off save, after save, after save. Took an Ashton pen (probably the only time the ball went anywhere near our 6 yard box) for them to beat us.

On the other hand I think the best performance by a City player I've ever seen was Chippo in the 2-1 win against the Vile. He was simply brilliant. Covered every blade of grass. Linked perfectly with Roussel and Keane. Forced a couple of decent stops from David James. Not a misplaced pass.

How good did we have it back then?!

Edit: Twitchy fingers pressed 'post'.

Just about to post him myself.

Think we bought him on the strength of those games and he was awful.

That game was an utter farce. Not quite as memorable as Stephen Hughes' stint in goal at home to a terrible Stoke though, the guy had clearly never done it in his life!

Tbf to him he bust his ribs in the first few minutes of a pre season game at Rushdon & Diamonds. He came back into training too quickly and struggled after that.

Steve Sutton used to play in goal for Forest,(and us on loan if I'm not wrong?),so I doubt very much you mean him

Iain Hume scored a few, also Peter Whittingham and Rob Earnshaw. Remember also always lost to Burnley usually Chris Eagles or Robbie Blake scoring for them.

Yep. And Ian Rush, although we can't have been the only team he always used to score a Hat-full against.
