Sat in one the other night. I sneaked away from my seat in the "west end" and sat along the side for a different perspective. Never noticed them before . Are they for posh supporters ?

Private seat license owners probably?

Back in 2006, there was an initiative to raise funds where you could reserve/buy your seat for life. You got your seat padded as well as a bunch of other perks I think.

Buy your own seat until someone bought the stadium don't you mean?

Well at least you could watch the grass grow in comfort while everyone went to six fields.

£500 I think. In theory anyone that bought one has ownership of that seat's location for the life of the stadium. Will try to find my certificate if I get chance to see what it says.

How does that work with Concerts and Wasps etc? Surely they have to pay you if somebody sits in your seat?

I think it's just for CCFC games, and they have so long to buy their ST's before they go on general sale. I think it's the box's that you hired for the year and could attend any event, including concerts, etc.

They have seating like this at the O2, all in the same area though rather than randomly throughout the arena. If you want to put something on their part of the agreement is that those seats are already taken and can't be sold.

Padded seats? There are times when a few padded cells would be more appropriate......the mental torchure our fans have to endure.

Could it be to soften the pain for those who have been stung by Wasps - bet there is one on TF's seat (I'll get my coat!)

Scary thing is, amount of empty padded seats for matches now. Around me in block 20 there's loads every game with no-one sitting in them

Yes padded seats for Private Seat Licence holders. We both bought one, £275 each if I remember rightly. Guaranteed your seat for life for CCFC games provided you still had a season ticket.

We had ours in the Telegraph stand and when they said they weren't reopening the Telegraph stand when we moved back to the Ricoh this season we moved seats to the Main stand. They guaranteed that if we moved our seats they would also move our padded seats with us within a month of the Gillingham match.

Need I say that we are still waiting!!!

I'm pretty sure that the Premiership didn't exist in 2006! We all got done over good and proper by this one. Think it was Fletcher, Brannigan and Sharp's initiative. However they all left not long after so it's not really their fault I suppose.
