So many levels to that pun.

This is getting a bit repetitive

Again a really good bit of writing. Unfortunately can't say I enjoyed reading it

Good account, which I could actually read this time. Congratulations.
Although blue or black on white or cream would have been easier on the eyes than white on black.
When did you last read a book with black pages and white text?
I skipped the entire long first paragraph as it appeared completely irrelevant.
The best part was the report on the replacement linesman's antics.

Excellent read as always, try and find a font that will annoy Gazolba more, as I found his critique completely irrelevant

If you're looking for a completely 'relevant' match report then this one definitely isn't for you.

To be honest, for me, it was like reading riddles, like you're trying too hard to wax lyrical. Perhaps you should consider being a little more 'relevant', rather than knocking it.

Since waxing lyrical means praising, I get the feeling you didn't read it at all....,

You're either offended or selective...you missed 'trying too hard'.

Don't get me wrong, it isn't bad. When you're 'playing with words', don't lose focus on the subject matter.

Just an opinion.

Wise edit.......it's late in the UK anyway, not many, if any, will have seen your original comment.

Unfortunately, since I already quoted it....it will stick.

So, as you'd word play; Mum isn't the word.

Bummer

Your only hope is that they can't be arsed to look back

He was (unfairly) less than complimentary about someone else's blog. Which is always ill advised when your own isn't perfect.

He edited it, so fair play to him.

Fair play, he did the right thing and edited it. I'm not going to drag it up again.

Kudos for putting it right.

Your writing is good, it's entertaining, so-much-so that it's even a good read after a shitty loss.

I know it's a blog, but if you want to take it further, a good article has a mix of facts and scene setting/story telling. I have a contact at the Guardian, one of their sports journalists. If I see one of your blogs that I think he might like, I'll send it to him, with your blessing of course.
