Again, I was talking about Christianity and you are talking about religion as a whole.

john Fashanu famously humiliated his brother that much he ended up killing himself. He’s not religious.

Religion extends beyond the UK, I imagine being gay would land you in hot water in many countries

Regarding Morsy - His religion is protecting him from the onslaught. Too many people are scared to go after Islam so he's essentially allowed to get away with it. Doubt we would see so much playing down of this if a catholic of christian was doing it.

It seems in a related, albeit slightly different message, it is a bit easier to go after Guhei.

I would prefer the Islamic view of the LGBT community not to be excused or swept under the carpet.

I presume you are an ally of the Islamic community, and that's why you're taking this stance? It's a bit shitty mate.

Well why don't you talk to some Africans at your local church and see how they view homosexuality

Again another sweeping generalisation. My church is 70% Black so I’ll make sure to check in this Sunday.

Not believing In God doesn't mean I am blind deaf and willfully ignorant of many issues that surround religion

I dated a girl from a very strict Catholic family for 2 years

Well considering the club made a statement announcing the decision I don’t really see how it was swept under the carpet, nor do I see how the various statements expressing disappointment were excusing it either.

What do you think the level of retribution should be for a player not taking part in an optional equality campaign?

There are currently 12 countries in the world where Homosexuality is or can be punishable by the death penalty:

Afghanistan, Brunei, Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, United Arab Emirates, Uganda and Yemen.

What do they have in common? All but one of them are Islamic countries practicing Sharia Law.

You have a habit of answering a question with a question.

What do you think of the Islamic views on homosexuality?

Atheism has no creed.

Some atheists are wankers; but no-one's a bigot because atheism taught them to be.

A shared habit, I see!

I don’t see what my views have to do with it, nor would I feel confident summarising “the Islamic views on homosexuality” but fwiw I somehow doubt me and Sam Morsy would get on like a house on fire on the issue. But I don’t think he needs to be condemned much more than he already has been just because we disagree on whether it’s a nice thing to wear a rainbow armband this weekend.

There seems to be a lot of Panic around this Morsy guy, and you've got to Ask yourself What difference does it make? He really does seem like a charming man.
