Thorn explains Quirke exit

The 22 year old Australian Ireland is recovering from an bad knee injury and is highly rated by Thorn.

Thorn explained,

“Danny has been offered another year and we will give him every chance because he has been a good No.2 to Kieren."

He’s not fit yet but he’s not far away. He’ll come back and he’ll get a chance but, if need be, we will loan him out to get games to get him going, but depending on what happens with Kieren and how Danny goes on I could be looking to bring in two keepers, but I like Danny.”

As for the reason why Quirke, who not only played more gamers for Coventry than Ireland did this season, he also won his first international cap,

Thorn explained,

"He’s played the last two games and done terrifically well."
" I have had a good chat with him, as has Oggy, and he’s a good lad, but sometimes it can do a player good to move on and we hope he goes on to do really well, but at this moment in time and the situation we are in, I have got people I want to bring in."

"Unfortunately that is part of my job as manager. It is not a very nice part but something I have got to do, and I certainly haven’t fallen out with anyone, and we’ll help Quirkey and give him a good reference, but it is down to the individual how far they want to go.”
