Goalkeeper Michael Quirke is to start again for Coventry City in their Championship game at Norwich City tomorrow.

With Keiren Westwood's shoulder injury meaning that the away defeat at Middlesbrough was the Republic Of Ireland international's last match in a City shirt, unless something very dramatic happens, Quirke who kept a clean sheet against Reading last Saturday will again start in goal.

City have no new injury worries and whilst Richard Keogh prepares to play in a game which will have seen him play every league game for the Sky Blues this season, Gary Deegan may get a run out in midfield at some stage of the game.

Norwich also have no new injury worries and are expected to keep the team which won at Portsmouth on Monday night.

Bye bye Kieren Westwood.

Jumping the gun a bit. He's got a fitness test in the morning according to Thorn on Mercia.

Yeah I agree totally he's out the door! I just don't think he doesn't want to play for us, I think he's injured and he's got a fitness test in the am!

I agree. The notion that Westwood doesn't want to play for us is an insult to a player who's given his all whilst honouring his contract with us, and seems hypocritical if it gets as far as turning on a player due to a perceived lack of 'loyalty'.

It matters not whether he wants to play for us again or not, I would still play Quirke (assuming they are to offer him a new deal). It makes sense. We know what Westy can do and we don't yet know if he'll be here or not - I hope he is, but in a game that means not a great deal, it's the perfect opportunity to get the lad some much needed experience. As long as we don't take a hammering it will do him the world of good for next season, not least because it's such a confidence position and to know the manager has faith in him will mean bucketloads. It will also let us know more about him and teach the staff a bit more about his character. Who knows regardless of whther we have Westy when MQ could be called upon again.

I think westy has gone. I also think he would be mad not to. I also think that Quirke is not his replacement, the club obviously agree that's why he hasn't been given a contract. The only reason he's playing is because currently, he's all we've got!

Bit harsh, he's done enough this season to deserve at least a 12 month contract.

I'd be keeping Quirke and getting rid of Danny Ireland. It was a disaster when he came on against Bristol City, getting injured with his first kick. Give Quirke a couple of years and get a new number 1, as lets face it Westwood has been going to go all season. I just hope he goes prem not Ipswich or Lesta

I like Quirke, think he's a decent player. Would keep worth keeping him for another few seasons and dropping the injuring prone Danny Ireland.
