I think the leadership issue on the pitch is probably the biggest problem we have.

This is it. Assume the recruitment team saw qualities in the players they found but those qualities aren't there in enough depth to stand-up to playing in front of 25k at home that have expectations of a top six push. Either that, or they assumed those qualities didn't matter as MR, AV, DL or whoever coached them could drill those qualities into them. Not good.

I really don't agree on this leadership idea.

It's not like we're starting games well and losing our way. Or going down early and heads dropping.

The performance as a team just isn't there. There's little cohesion. That to me points more to a coaching/management issue rather than leadership on the pitch.

There's no way the addition of Matty James suddenly turns us into a top 6 side.

I don't think we'd suddenly be a play off contender or Matty James would have even potentially been a regular starter, but just having an experienced head in and around the team and changing rooms would be really beneficial to the rest of the squad I think.

Wasn't it McFadzean a season or two ago that got the team together after a really poor run of games, and although we don't know what was said, you'd imagine it was an open conversation and it was a turning point of the season.
Can't see many within the current squad who would do that, but maybe I'm being unfair

Leadership might not be the right word.

Just players who take responsibility on the pitch and keep teammates on assignment. I don't see enough of that.

Nah, but it could turn us into a poor side that fights and scraps for every point available

I agree with this being an issue of his own making. Especially where the CBs are concerned.

Are we going to drop about half the team from Preston and completely demoralise 50% of the players again.
I think right now MR must be consulting with our myriad of coaches to see,
Who had a good nights sleep
Who ate all their Weetabix
Who has filled in their psychological testing form correctly to see if they’re in the mood today.

Please a good performance and a win.

Want to see a delighted away support applauding MR while we run away with it.

Relegation zone tonight and the conversations become extremely serious

Could be the difference between keeping us up and getting relegated and/or give us enough time/breathing space to sort things out on the training ground so we're no longer awful.

The team when we got relegated from The Championship in 2012, that team was shit

The one that got us relegated from League 1 it was glaringly obvious it was going to struggle about 5 matches in

I am not getting that vibe from this one just now - 1-2 City win tonight

Look at Sunderland last season. Team full of kids with no experienced head or leader. Fans slating their owner for only building a team with young players who they thought would be then developed and sold for a profit.
They finished mid table but were on a dreadful run the last part of the season and many thought if the season had continued for another couple of months they would have gone down.

this season they signed Brown in midfield but not a lot else and sold arguably their best player in Clarke. Brown seems to have totally transformed their team a long with another manager

Yeah, I agree. I just think people conflate 'leadership' with 'shouting a lot' or 'organising'. I think it's more personal than that. Not enough take responsibility for their own sh*t.

When people aren't handling adversity themselves, it rubs off on others. If more people showed responsibility for their own sh*t, you don't always need 'Leaders' with a capital L.

Was positive and fully expecting a win on Saturday, but not feeling confident at all tonight.
Especially as QPR haven't won at home yet this season...

Would take a point as long as we win Saturday

Simms to get two and a deflected effort from Eccles with a late consolation from them to end our losing run.

What year is it again?

If we score more goals and play better than Saturday we have a chance of winning, if we don’t and they score more goals than us then we will lose.
