Fucking hell... That penalty shout for them is nearly as bad as some of the ones we've had lately

People getting worked up about posters calling for Lampards head even though no-one has called for his head is classic transfer window SBT.
Almost worth brining no-one else in just to see how far the madness can go!

I think personally fans will turn against him. Some can't wait as well.

Some will if we blow this. But at the moment we haven't and no one has.
You were quick to turn on Robins to be fair with your now legendary taxi thread!
He had my unwavering support and so does Lampard (though I wish hed tweak things away from home).

Same, Clint. I think just changing the way we play for some away games (not all), would have resulted in more points on the board.

I think to be honest either way he will struggle to last beyond the turn of the year

Fail to get promoted and he is going to never recover. I think promotion will be great until the season starts and we will be struggling big time. Fans aren't used to losing anymore and they will turn quickly.

Lampard is similar to Gerrard and Rooney in that people seem to revel in their failures as managers for some reason

I always believe that if a manager gets a team up unexpectedly (and getting us up would be unexpected) he should be given the chance to do it again and that would be my stance if we go up.

Unfortunately Sunderland have made a rod for the back of any non parachute team going up as far as expectations are concerned but if Lampard gets us up I'd stick with him come what may.

He’s earned it really same as Robins did despite doubts about him at this level. I hope he’ll find a new way of playing with basically a whole new squad though because if we play anything like we do now Derbys record is in danger IMO.

The only way we can play the high line is if we spend about 300mil on defenders and 50 mil minimum on a Grimes replacement.
Otherwise it's going to have to be a whole new game plan.

In his defence I have long maintained that championship defences are garbage and all out attack is the right tactics at this level.

Yeah, whichever way you look at it, it's a different beast entirely.
The speed of transition of even the poorest PL teams is frightening.

In any season successful teams will at some point see a dip in form, and there can be a myriad of reasons for that. In our instance there has been a combination of injuries (BTA/ Rudoni), suspensions (Thomas/ Dasilva), sickness (MVE/ Torp/ Saka) and form (Grimes/ Wright) at a time of an intense fixture schedule. It is likely that the variance in form/ luck will switch back, and while I get adopting a slightly more pragmatic approach in away games to halt the winless run in the short term, it could be counter productive to attempt too big a change in tactics overall, particularly in respect of our strong home form which has continued despite the difficulties we have faced.
All those three highlighted could potentially be linked to the way we've been set up to play thus far this season. High intensity can lead to injuries, loss of form as players struggle to maintain that level and suspensions as fatigue can cause poor decision making and being a split second too late as your body doesn't react as quickly as norma,l.

That has got us to the point we're at now - top of league. But it has also got us to the point where we can't maintain it and are in danger of being caught. Hence why this transfer window is SO important - we need to have other options to allow for the current player's fatigue.

Well it was clearly pre-meditated. Though some blame has to be laid on the stewarding and security for allowing him to get it that far. Or maybe coach seats aren't on the prohibited items list?

I think King sticks with Lampard whether we go up or not. It always amazes me that a manager that does the almost impossible can be criticised when it doesn’t quite come off. That would apply to not going up or struggling if we did. I think King enjoys the profile Lampard has bought with him and there is no denying he’s done an unbelievable job.

Need 6 points from QPR and Oxford. Allows us to go into the Boro game without any pressure. Saying that, until we sort out the leakage at the back we're in trouble. 2-1 loss.

We can afford an f up vs QPR and or Oxford...if we beat boro.

Boro could be looked at as a get out of jail card.

Im confident we would do boro. We have to be. No reason not to be!

If you were in town you’d look in the window of a television shop at about twenty to five. Usually a crowd of blokes doing the same thing

Yes, sometimes I would go into Gibbs on Foleshill Rd by the General Wolfe to make out I was interested in buying a TV.

I can just see many years from now, Kai Andrews is invited to collect the Ballon D’Or, the crowd stands to its feet as he ascends the stage, tears in his parents’ eyes and Doug King’s eyes too. He takes a deep breath, walks over to the podium…and Jake Bidwell hands him his shirt, whispering ‘I’ll never let you forget this mate’
