Only just recovered from injury hasn't he.

Probably rusty as much as anything else.

Just watched the highlights of our win over QPR what a difference. In that performance we moved the ball quickly one touch passes playing through midfield Rudoni staying in the lines of both 18 yard box's.

We are to slow in our build up piss about with it at the back and want loads of touches instead of passing it through seen a bit of this second half against Leicester when Rudoni was getting in pockets of space between the box's. Grimes is far to deep and we keep trying the long switch ball from left to right.

Considering you feel Grimes plays too deep, it is surprising how many crosses into to box he puts in. Far more than EMC or Dasilva. When teams are building from the back it is not unusual for the main playmaker to sit deep because they like to have all their options in front of them. As we progress up the pitch so does Grimes. He is often hovering just outside the opponents penalty area.

Yes and it's always a loop left peg to the far post.

Lessons have to have been learned from last night and we can't be so gung-ho leaving so much space for teams to break into.

Can't decide between two options:

1. Keep our current shape, but bring in Eccles for BTA. Move Torp into the 10 (or just let him play where he was against Norwich as it was high anyway) and have Eccles playing closer to Grimes as an 8.

2. Go 3CB's and move Grimes higher up the pitch so he's closer to the attacking players that way.

If he's fit enough, I'd consider KKH at LB, purely because he has more pace to recover in a similar fashion to mvE. I seem to remember he's also capable of a long throw so if FL is going to persist with that tactic, at least we wouldn't have all the players out of position when MvE has to trot over to the left to take them.

And if we're in need of a goal, bring Simms on alongside Wright rather than to replace (unless Wright is having one of those games where he seems offended to have been asked to play a game of football.)

Rushworth
Thomas Lats Kitching
Van Ewijk Dasilva
Eccles Grimes
Saka Wright EMC

Didn't we go to a back 5 away at Charlton and looked absolutely awful?

Anyway, this is how I'd set us up for QPR:

Subs: Wilson, Latibeaudiere, Bidwell, Allen, Rudoni, Sakamoto, Mason-Clark, Thomas-Asante, Wright

Eccles and Torp under strict instructions not to leave Grimes isolated.

I think Esse deserves to keep his place

They are still good balls in that are there to be attacked. EMC puts one good cross about every two games, yet is a dedicated winger (before EMC fans get on my back, he has his strengths, but crossing isn’t one of them).

Just think with that formation and team I've gone with, Simms would be better suited, but Wright has looked better recently.

I assume we will play the usual 2-0-8 in possession and 2-1-7 out of possession.
