I'd fit him with a tracker that gives him an electric shock if he leaves the width of the 18 yard box

Not unhappy with that side.

Eccles will do more of a job covering the space and defensively than Torp. It takes some creativity away, but there’s enough across the front four (if all on form) to still be an offensive threat.

tbf all he needs to do is tell Eccles and Grimes to make sure there's cover for transitions and balance the full backs so they're not both around QPR's box at the same time, every time we have the ball.

Plenty use the same formation to throttle teams and concede very few goals. If used right, you can control a game and keep it fairly tight. Not saying we will, but the formation isn't the issue in itself.

Excited to see what Eccles can bring in a deeper role. Combined with Sakamoto’s work rate out of possession, it’s a lot more conservative (in theory) than what we’ve seen in recent weeks. A lot of options off the bench if we need to ramp things up too.

Good to see you’re still a miserable c**t making judgements before you’ve seen how that lineup translates to tactics.

Just glad this lineup is more conservative with options on the bench. Not going to score 4 or 5 but hopefully won't conceed 2 or 3 by half time eithier!!

Right, I am out with time to kill and want to watch the game. Never used a VPN before, or iFollow.

So, just downloaded Nord and signed up to City's iFollow. But won't that pick up on the fact that I have a UK postcode? Or will that just be ignored because the VPN is saying I am abroad (in a cattle field in Nepal at the moment)

Any advice would be most gratefully received.

Decent line up, with ability to create impacts from the bench. KKH, Noah and BTA to come back into the squad. Just hope we stay disciplined without the ball especially when they break.

Hope for no injuries, suspension 3 pts get of dodge...

Rudoni and Eccles will add more defensive structure than BTA and Torp

That’s the right team in my opinion , Esse could be a match winner of the bench . Hopefully Eccles and grimes can tighten up the midfield
Bench looks pretty strong too

Good to see Eccles in alongside Grimes, we should have enough in midfield to stop being overrun. Hopefully Rudoni can make an impact today.

Yeah, I like that side. I would have gone with Wright, but not complaining.

Eccles should help Grimes out a bit and we are due a top performance from Rudoni.

On paper that seems a good lineup.

On the surface of things it looks like a pretty good team and bench. Just hope to fuck they’re not getting revved up to get into personal physical battles with their direct opponents. Keep the ball on the deck and play the sexy football that got us into this good position. If there’s not a simple pass then be patient , keep the ball and wait for the right opportunity.

I'm happy with the starting lineup.

If Eccles works with Grimes in midfield, rather than going forwards in a gung-ho fashion, it should help with our midfield problems. I like Torp but Eccles is better defensively.

I would also like to see our wing-backs not constantly venturing far upfield, often in front of the wingers, and then struggling to get back in time to deal with a quick counter-attack.

A few little tweaks will, I think, go some way to sorting our recent problems out. We have Rudoni (who I hope is back to something near his best) as an AM, two good wingers and an in-form striker in Simms so we are certainly capable of scoring a goal or two.

Must admit, feel pleased for Simms.

They owe a decent performance after Monday night, let’s see if we can keep QPR down to 1 goal.

There’s 3 months left of the season surely he will be

How unfit can he possibly be? He’s 23 not 18, he might be one for the future but that future is approaching very quickly

Other big thing for me is I want our ‘out of possession’ shape to be a 433/451 rather than the 442/424 that we’ve typically used this season. Tell Rudoni to drop back in and congest the middle.
