So the Eccles/Kelly debate rumbles on…..,,,,
Kelly-the best player on Monday night but apparently his “legs have gone” and “he’s past it” and “they are both the same type of player”
If that’s the case then and they’re too similar-how do people rate Eccles?

That makes you a faux football intellectual, apparently.

I know we have injuries but that lineup is bang average at best. Comfortable defeat today

That team is awful. Sorry to say, but there is just nothing on that team to leave me confident nor excited. How he can persist with that awful midfield two together is beyond me! If he doesn’t have the personnel then change the system and play a box formation. No pace on the wings and nothing is going to come through the middle. Given Eccles ineptitude at doing anything, all the QPR attacks will just come straight down the middle. 3-0 QPR

I fear for us today. A depleted midfield doesn't scream play two up front to me.

He played full back or wing back most of last season for Swansea to be fair. Would prefer Saka there though

Yeah, surprised Robins hasn’t reverted to the box at least once, especially away

Defensively I wouldn't and I guess that's the point of the team , Robins wants to win and if we stay solid atb then we've every chance of winning

Yeah first choice midfield was

Hamer - Sheaf ( Eccles 3rd choice, Allen 4th choice brining in Palmer into the ACM, Kelly 5th choice)
Allen - O'Hare (Palmer 3rd choice,)

Go back and re read it, there's 2 lines one for DCM role in the box, and the other for the ACM role in the box.

My point was that Allen would have played DCM ahead of Kelly last season.

Apology accepted

Yea he said Allen and O'Hare were the preferred players in attacking midfield and with O'Hare being injured most of the season this is where the majority of Allens appearances were.

When he said Allen was fourth choice he was specific in saying he was fourth choice in the two central midfield positions

Robins is in his element picking a really defensive side away from home.
It’s an 8 0 2 formation and he’s loving it.
