Defensively Lati is fine. On the ball he is utterly horrific. Sheaf 6 just for work rate. Everyone else a 5.

when he’s got the ball I continually expect him to stumble over it as he’s never balanced.

Dovin 5 mistake for the goal but was otherwise ok
MVE 6 struggled with their wing back but eventually got to grips with him and to be fair kept him quiet second half
Lati 6 so limited on the ball but fairly solid defensively
Thomas 6 as Lati really, good block in the run up to our goal
Binks 5 in no man's land for their goal, needs to stop getting dragged into areas he doesn't need to be in
Da Silva 5 looked vulnerable defensively and didn't use the ball very well going forward, not helped by players in front of him
Eccles 6 was ok, a few sloppy passes but one great ball in we should have scored from
Sheaf 7 got on the ball a lot and tried to get us going, was aggressive with his pressing, more like it
Rudoni 5 barely involved until late on in the game, just isn't working hard enough, never seems to be an option for a pass
BTA 6 only gets an extra point due to his involvement in the goal, was useless after that
Wright 6 similar really, has to work harder to keep hold of the ball

Subs
Simms 5 fine lines though could have been a goal and an assist if he'd just thought about what he was doing
Saka 6 some nice touches but not really involved
Torp 7 won a lot of second balls and kept us recycling the ball
Bassette 5 if Simms had got his head up maybe he'd have had a great chance, he otherwise again just got bullied by a wily defender like Cook

Da Silva is shocking no surprise he went missing again and the goal came down his side in fact he was caught out of position a few times which could have been more costly. He offers nothing in attack the sooner bidwell is back the better

Back 5 simply does not work. MVE horrendously exposed, as was JDS, repeatedly beaten and I’m sorry but Lati at the heart of the defence is not the one.

We have absolutely no creativity through the middle either Rudi was absolutely lost tonight, entirely ineffective. We can all kid ourselves and say losing CoH and Palmer wasn’t that bad but we literally have no creative spark whatsoever.

Lati wasn’t at the heart of defence, only from goal kicks for some reason - probably ball progression.

The creativity comes from Eccles and Sheaf too. They are too comfortable passing laterally, something they’re both good at. When I comes to making passes forwards in the final third, not so good.

Our main tactical idea tonight was to get it out wide right to use MVE as a creative outlet. The problem is, MVE’s crossing is his biggest weakness.

Overall, today was an improvement in parts but again, we just can’t defend particularly well and concede easy goals.

It wasn’t just MVEs crossing, he was hardly ever high enough up the pitch and I don’t remember him actually beating his man once the one or 2 crosses he did get in were the rare occasions we found him in space and then the end product was woeful.

He's not a wing back, he struggled a bit at the beginning of last season until we switched to 4231 with him at full back with a winger to play off.

Agree with all of this. The injury really helped QPR and we didn't really do anything going forward after that til Simms (like him or loath him) came on. Couple of decent balls from Eccles but not a lot else.

Palmer is still, for me, one of our best performers this season. Came in a couple of times and had an impact. I'm sure Rudi will come good but right now I'm not really sure what he is supposed to be doing. He just seems to be a bit lost up there.

We’re just not playing to his strengths. There were moments we tried to use one of the CMs to overlap with him to create overloads in those channels. The best example being Eccles’ superb cross in the second half.

I think we want to play 4-2-3-1 still but think we look more defensively balanced playing 3-4-1-2 even though it was too easy to get hit on the counter using the wide channels. Exhibit A being their goal and they did a v similar move in stoppage time that should’ve lead to a chance.

To me he’s being played too far forward. The only times he shines in matches is when he’s allowed to play deeper and take the ball off the backs. He played that position against Werder Bremen, Everton and Blackburn which were possibly our best games so far this season. He likes to run create the space then pass. It’s clear to see he can’t play as a 10.

All joking aside it was slightly better today overall. But still shite.

Could easily have lost 2 or 3 nil. Plucky draw against bottom of the league who haven’t won at home all season.

Only bright point was that Sheaf started to play much more like himself.

Don't recall any of the gilt edged chances they had that would have led to such a big defeat
