Fair enough, I thought he was an 8 minimum.

Did great for at least 2 or 3 of the goals.

Thought EMC did well today. End product let him down a few times but thought his interplay first half was great and much more direct than he usually is, fewer check backs which makes us much harder Tod defend against IMO

10's for everybody (it would be churlish to give them less), but special mention for two who outperformed their usual level. BTA had a really good game and possibly provides more space for MVE than Tats does. Secondly, Rudoni was all over it from the first minute, much better than in the first two games - unbelievable control - back to his best.

Can't rate the subs because when they came on, it was no longer a proper game, but KKH looked useful.

Noticeable that there was much less of the "back to Grimes, back to the keeper" and so on; much more on the front foot.

I was feet away from Lampard and he was in almost continual 121 communication with Torp but no-one else, with some downward finger movements that I couldn't translate. Torp was acknowledging he had the message.

Even though he scored, we dodged a bullet with Kone. Distinctly limited.

Over my left shoulder with the players not in the squad was Bassette who looked distinctly disenchanted

I think if you divide the quality of goal and assist together and give each equal weighting then it’s one of the best of the season.

Special praise from me to BTA.
Shows he can be very useful asset. I'd rather we make some improvements to the Strikers namely Simms and Bassett if we are serious for promotion. BTA is definitely worth being around the team.

I have been critical of Asante of late but he had a very decent game today scored a goal and 2 assists whereas Simms looked well still not great but maybe lacking game time so not trying to be negative..

Torp was a joke again today. So much more effective next to Grimes than a sheaf is. A genuine box to box goalscoring midfielder…maybe he was the HaMeR RePLacEment.

Great to see him fully fit.

Grimes provided the platform that allowed Torp and Rudoni to run riot. All three were absolutely superb.

First half performance was the best I can remember, by far. What a day.

I think he may have been the one who rearranged the internal organs of both Bobby and Liam, knew how to throw his weight around, don't know if that was the reason for Kitchings booking and the FK that led to the goal.

What stood out for me today everybody was working for each other. Giving options all over the pitch. It was a collective effort in and out of possession . A lot of hard work went into that performance.

JDS 3 for only having Dembele in his pocket until he went off and virtually never giving the ball away. 3 for our rubbish defence for conceding a goal when we had lost interest. 3 for our attack that can't score goals and all need to be replaced.

Rushworth 7 Passing range is impressive

MVE 8 They had no idea how to deal with him
Thomas 7
Kitching 7 He still has a mistake in him
Dasilva 7

Grimes 9 An obvious MOTM on many other days
Torp 8 Maybe the best striker of the ball since McAllister
Rudoni 9 MOTM QPR literally couldn’t get the ball of him, mesmerising

BTA 8 Unbelievable finish for his goal, a valuable asset to the squad
Wright 9 Brilliant strength, great finishes…a 20-goal striker if he plays like this every week
EMC 7

Subs all 6

Think that’s the worst away performance I’ve seen at the CBS since the last time Rotherham played here, and potentially ever. You couldn’t design a team less well suited to cope with us, they just politely jogged into the buzzsaw over and over again.

I agree wrt Grimes. Unheralded hero today, there was a bit of the game between 25 and 35 mins when they threatened to get back into it. He was the calmness which said "No Way" and he constantly recycling the ball and retained it to enable us to launch further attacks. Filled in at CB when required. Such a big part of today as well as the obvious flair players who delivered the goods

For the record is dont think a 6.5 / 7 is a bad rating i just think thats where he was today against the other players performances .. players like grimes torp and rudoni were better but not perfect its quite hard to justify an 8 plus imho .

Hes a player i admire alot too btw

The frustrating thing is that Sheaf ought to be capable of similar, but just seems to lose his head completely when shooting.

Call me "Mr Picky" but that's a fundamental requirement when being compared to Gary Mac
