Hamer and Wilson motms I'd say

Gyo hit 20 for the season in the league.

Bnc had chair in his pocket as well.

Hamer was immense today as were Sheaf and Vik.
Couldn't really mark anybody lower than a seven.

Wilson 9

Couple of great saves. Distribution mainly good but could have slowed it down when we were on the rack. Extends his clean sheet record.

BNC 7

I thought he did quite well. Maybe taken off to rest him.

McNally 8

Solid. Can’t remember him doing anything wrong.

Fadz 8

As above.

Doyle 7

Couple of loose passes but part of a clean sheet defence.

Bidwell 6

Bang average.

Sheaf 7

A typical Sheaf performance- some great quality and a bit of dithering and poor passes. Should have made the keeper work harder with his shot.

Eccles 6

Poor first half - better second.

Hamer 9

His defensive contribution was good today. When he intercepts in our box he doesn’t just hoof it out (where it’s either be a throw in to them or they pick up deep) he used his head and passes and runs out. Ran the hand today and grabbed a goal.

Godden 6

Quiet.

Gyok 8

2 goals and several blind alley runs. Wasn’t as dominant as he has been previously and I do think needs a rest. However - that’s impossible at the moment.

Wilson 6 Harsh given his very good save on 45’, but his kicking was awful and put us under needless pressure (including just before that Chair free kick)

Cuffy 6 Struggled defensively against Chair at times but generally did ok
McNally 6 Has definitely come back down to earth after a stellar first few games
McFadzean 7 Impressive showing against two big strikers
Doyle 7 Very composed - does anyone remember Jonathan Panzo? Me neither
Bidwell 7 Clearly the best wing back in the squad

Sheaf 7 A bit sloppy at times but got forward well
Eccles 7 Great ball to spring Vik for the second goal
Hamer 8 MOTM His energy just overwhelmed a lethargic QPR midfield

Gyokeres 8 Frustrating to watch at times, glorious at others. The more he learns to bring in team-mates when the opposition doubles up on him, the better he will get - though I doubt he’s in this league for long
Godden 7 Worked his arse off

Dabo 6
Walker 6 Fair play for staying on his feet to set up the second goal!
JWE 6 Looked scatterbrain when he came on and I feared the worst
Maguire N/A Good for you, Sean Maguire

Thought gus gave the ball away too much, he only got the assist for the last goal after getting spun

What the bloody hell are you on about?

No way was Godden better than Hamer today. Hamer was incredible, best player on the pitch by some way in my book.

I thought Wilson's distribution was really poor today when kicking, which is why I scored him a point lower

All put a real proper professional away performance in. Thought Eccles and Sheaf really are getting better and Vik is just a tank. Hamer nicks top marls today but thought all were high 8s.. Great team spirit and all work cor each other, we are aggressive in winning the ball back and are starting to understand game management much better.

What a great day out that was. Great team effort. Only Godden was quiet and - I know some will throw stats at me - but another insipid display from Eccles.

Ref gave some stupid decisions too. Why on earth was Fadz booked?

Wilson made a couple of good saves although ones you might expect him to make. Thought BNC comfortably had his best game from a defensive perspective for us, Chair in his pocket. Gus and sheaf decent, Godden anonymous. We were solid and decent but scoreline probably flattered us

I am not sure that many Championship keepers would have saved that free kick. It was going into the top corner.

Perhaps I’m being harsh. Thought when I saw it in the concourse it was one I expected him to save but was busy enough that I was stretching to get a view if it

It was right in the top corner. Chair didn't hit it hard enough maybe but it was accurate and a bloody good save from Wilson. His kicking was highly suspect today at times though, vintage Wilson really!

Think it’s been taken as a criticism, didn’t mean for it to. He did well with the one he pushed away second half. I need to see the free kick again. I thought if it had gone in it would have been sloppy keeping, but could be being harsh

Eccles is one of those who will fly under the radar a bit as he isn’t a Hollywood style player, but he’s technically decent and generally he’s good with the ball and keeps it moving.

His passion and tenacity are impressive too - for someone relatively inexperienced he’s constantly on at the ref and doesn’t mind the back and forth with the opposition either.

He’ll continue to improve and only get better in my view.

Right, time for some ratings from someone who will not get carried away beating a team who are bottom of the football league form table over the last 20 games:

Wilson - 6. Good saves but distribution shite as per. Couple of long lump down fields to no one when we could have countered.

Norton-Cuffy - 3. Plays like he’s got ice skates on not boots. Will never make it at Premier League OR Championship level.

McNally - 5. Sloppy first half and gave the ball away a few times. Improved

McFadz - 6. Decent enough performance whilst not doing anything spectacular.

Doyle - 6. As above. Will end up at a bottom-half Premier League club IMO.

Bidwell - 5. Meh. Did what needs to be done. Shite going forward.

Sheaf - 8. Ran the show as per usual. Marked down for giving the ball away in a dangerous position once. Our most important player imo.

Hamer - 9. Different gravy. Him & Sheaf are the only players on our team who can find a pass and shoot.

Eccles - 1. Christ. What does he offer? Awful football player. Allen 2.0.

Gyok - 5. Done his very best to miss both chances despite them being easier to score. I’ve said it before - he is a very average finisher and ridiculously greedy. Any offer of 10m and we should be snapping hands off.

Godden - 2. Needs to go. Well out of his depth at this level to the point I almost feel bad for him.

Subs
Dabo - 3.
Walker - 6. Showed in about 5 minutes why he should be starting over Godden.
JWE - 5.
