I know we're not exactly at half way, but now would seem the perfect time to put half season tickets on sale. The club always seem a bit slow on taking advanatage whenever there's a feelgood factor though.

As well as the crowds in the photo, you need t add on about 500 for the concourse crew who refuse to leave their pints.

And you got the figure correct too. You see that quoted incorrectly so often.
(I was in the covered end).

Yes, definitely well over the quoted official figure. We got there really early, just after the gates opened, and got a pretty good spot. Rammed though, as you say. My mate being a shortarse struggled, but at 6ft 2 I had no problems seeing (or breathing!).

I was 11 at the time thousands got in free including me when they broke the gates open on Swan Lane.I ended up on the pitch. When I worked in a travel agency in cov spoke to one of the policemen on duty that day they had to get more police in they estimated that 20000 were locked out

I was 14 - and was nearly 6ft at 11yo! Looked ridiculous wearing a cap as we had to for the first two years at school.
I ended up at 6ft 2in within a year or so but reckon I'd have been much taller but for my 40 a day habit

I started going up with my dad as a 5 y/o in 1974 so obviously missed out on the Hill years and the famous Wolves match ’tho my dad was there, just out of interest how mamy do you think Wolves had at the game.
My dad and his mates were drinking with a load of Wolves in the city centre in the afternoon, they were telling them 20 odd thousand were coming across, my dad reckoned there was at least that.

My & my mate got to HR early trying for autographs, At about 1 o’clock the queue of Wolves fans waiting for the turnstiles to open stretched the length of King Richard Street across Gosford Park and right up Gulson Road which was impassable for vehicles. It became a dangerous crush by the turnstile and Jimmy Hill and chairman Derrick Robins came out to see & let us and some other kids in for our safety, looking back it’s a wonder there wasn’t injuries. I think the true gate was a lot higher than the official figure, The game should really have been all ticket.

Well they reckon there was north of 60,000 there when we played Sunderland in the cup quarters, gates at the kop end were lifted off there hinges and thousands poorer in. I'm told the same happend at the wolves game.
