I wish Portugal and Uruguay could both lose.

I guess a draw is best here, it gives Ghana the chance to get their revenge on Uruguay and put them out while Korea can get through with a 2-0 win over Portugal.

Another joke from Var. Ref didn’t give until told to look. Get rid of Var before it totally ruins game

It's not the VAR though is it. It's the interpretation of it. That's the nonsense. Not the technology.

Clever by the Portugal team getting by round the spot to make sure Uruguay couldn’t kick up the spot.

Yes it is. Without using the technology that would never be given. Yes use it for offside, goal line tech etc…where there are definitive answers but as soon as interpretation don’t allow tech to slow, stop motion and then make a decision

I've always said, they should give a 20 second look at in incident. No obvious error found in that time, they go with the onfield decision.

Any time sequence is in itself arbitrary. Just use it for non subjective decisions.

But in 20 seconds you can see if anything is obvious. The longer you look, the more you can look for and breakdown and slo mo to within an inch of its life. You can then bring it down to the width of an eyebrow.

A very small window of time would exclude that. If it's THAT close, just go with the onfield decision. 20 second look, not clear cut, go with the onfield officials

There's little I would love more than to have an opportunity to knock Portugal out. I absolutely despise them as a footballing nation, and Ronaldo can get to fuck.

Only three teams who’ve won both games so far - overall standards of teams rising, or just weird luck?

Is it that unusual? I don't think many teams normally win both of their first two games. I might be wrong
