All well and good praising Morocco just for getting to the semifinal, but all this proves is that once again they just aren’t up to beating a big side in the knockout stages - surely the manager has to go after this.

Least they got to the semis.

Can you even imagine England ever getting to the semifinals? I can’t.

On that showing from France I think Argentina will win it. Morocco are a good striker away from being in a world cup final

Gutted Morocco couldn’t do it, but I’m not too upset if we get a repeat of the France-Argentina game in 2018. (As long as France don’t win)

Well I agree with that about Messi, but I don't want the argies to win it, I don't want France to win it , can we void it ?

I said at the start of the tournament France would knock us out , and France would beat Brazil in the final , I got 1 thing right , I think the French have the tournament experience to see this out .

France to win 2-1

Mbappe was poor tonight.
Hat trick on Sunday.
I'm calling it now.

Thought he was pretty good in flashes - had a hand in both goals - but his unwillingness to defend can be exploited.

Guess I'll have to go with the Argies for the final.

Few reasons:
1. I guess Messi deserves to have a WC winners medal after his career.
2. France won it last time.
3. We'd have a tournament where the only team the winners lost to during it was Saudi Arabia.

Or maybe I could have just gone for a "great" at the front of that.

Bit weird singing about a war you lost but whatever floats your boat I suppose. Couple of them need to have a think about which country they earn their wages in.

It’s a tough one. I’m with France or Argentina. Bury the hatchet with Argentina. What’s even more frustrating is that we could have been there.

I found the game last night pretty frustrating, but France were impressive. They weathered everything that Morocco threw at them, and were patient and confident to grab two goals at the right times to set Morocco back.
Morocco were full of ingenuity and drive in midfield, and down the right with Hakimi and Ziyech they were full of interchanges and creativity. Just a shame they seem to lack a dynamic striker who can poach and draw defenders in. Their number 9 who came on was shocking.

Also, and I hope the BBC don’t bring me up on charges of hate speech, but I thought Mbappe was poor and not only stick the boot in on their keeper, but rolled around way too much (whilst glancing at the ref).

Morocco were also very physical, and really clattered some of the French players, but that was obviously to bully them a bit.

Interesting game, entertaining, but quite frustrating when you want the underdog to win.

Just seen this on Facebook, not sure why it's stopped at 35 years .. I'd imagine there would be many more on the list..

Ronaldo nazario and batistuta played less than 100 games for their national teams .

Klose a pure World cup player with 16 in the competition , highest EVER

What a player ronaldo nazario was eh , imagine if he never got injured id say my favourite non english player ever

25 major tournament goals in 98 games

It’s done 35 years so Muller and 18 goals I think in 16 games is not there and he of course refuses to play for Germany after 1974 when only 29

The greatest player in my lifetime - he was never the same after the '98 final though.

Mullers record is amazing

Ronaldo also stopped playing for Brazil at 30 .. players like christiano ronaldo and Messi have had serious longevity in their international careers 196 games and 171 games respectively
