So our current plight got me wondering whether this is in fact our worst ever season. The number of games played varies over the years so to make an apple-to-apples comparison I calculated the number of points earned per game for each season since 1919-20.

So far this is statistically the worst season in the club's history. The number of points per game is only 0.735. To avoid this season becoming our worst ever season, we have to average 1.250 points in the remaining 12 games. Even then our performance would be worse than in the year we were relegated from the Premiership.

Our second worst season was in 2011-2012 when we earned 0.870 points per game and were relegated to L1. Thus, the two worst seasons in the club's history were under SISU.

Not surprisingly, the club's best performance was in 1966-67 when we averaged 1.952 points per game and were promoted to the old Division 1.

We have only ever played one season in the bottom division (1958-59) and in that season we averaged a whopping 1.826 points per game. I can't see us replicating that under SISU.

The perspective is, we are shit, run by idiots with no vision for the future. The atmosphere around the club is it is okay to fail.

in 1966-67 it was 2 points for a win. No way could we have averaged 1.952 points per game. Presume you are counting wins as 3 points for this purpose?

I'm guessing the worst ever prior to this one only two points per win were available.
So even more galling.

Just looking at the first season you were taking this data from, 1919-20 was I think our first season in the football league. We should therefore celebrate our centenary as a football league club in three years time. If things carry on the way they are, will we still be a football league club in 3 years time?
Interesting figures above. Has this all been calculated on three points for a win?

Yes, I was using 3 points for a win to make all the seasons comparable.

Wish our back four and midfield would do the same.
