Put the Pressure on the FL (8 Viewers)

We need to put more pressure on the FL, I have said this all along they have got away with too much, we need to start emailing again,and should of took a much larger scale demonstration to the FL headquarters by now.

Surely they can call an emergency board meeting to determine what SISU must pay or instruct SISU sooner the monies they must pay out of this escrow account so before 7th August.

They are dragging their heels on this just as much as other parties involved.

Time for pressure.

I really admire the effort and sentiment but how many times do I have to say the football league have never and never will do anything.

Protest, email, and threaten all you want. It's all pointless.

I really really applaud the thought but it's already proven not to work. Time and effort needs to be out on the two main parties ACL and sisu not a third party like the football league.

Yes I see your point very much, it just seems 7th August is a bit of a joke, they could easily speed up the process, it would take all of 10 minutes to decide what needs paying.

Oh I couldn't agree more. The fact that a decsion today could really speed up the process and start selling season tickets by Monday in theory really highlights the football league and their inadequacy.

Unfortunately as I say emails etc are pointless. I've sent 20 emails and counting along with many others its pointless.

The football league had a chance to stop this madness but failed badly. Sisu and ACL are the only two parties that can make this happen now.

I wonder what ACL will say if the FL deem the payment should be lower? They have almost put themselves in a corner - £590k or no talks.

I agree that FL have been totally useless. However, when we tried to get people to demonstrate in London on the day of the Arsenal game, only a handful turned-up. Also, there's little point doing demo at Gloucester Place again imo - it's only the commercial office that FL share with FA and PL.
If a demo is to be effective, you need to target the FL Operations Centre in Preston. Shame that we don't go to Preston away until February. So the best opportunity for a mass turnout is maybe 20th September when City play Rochdale - even then it is an extra 80 mile round trip.
So tweets, emails and letters are probably the only immediate tool at our disposal.
BTW - I am not convinced that 7th August will bring a clear answer, the cynic in me would bet that it gets deferred 'awaiting further information / clarification'.

I don't believe they can say a lot, as it was only through the FL making the payment to ACL a part of the golden share transfer, they are entitled to anything as they originally forfeited this money when they wouldn't sign the CVA.

The Football Leagues job is to run it's leagues within it's rule book and to ensure all fixtures are met, this they have done with the threat by our owners of pulling the plug if the FL don't agree to a temporary ground move. That threat is still there unless sisu say different

Yes, I wonder too, but I am more concerned about a few posters blood pressure if FL decide the amount to be paid is £90k as Robinson/McGinnity already paid $500k (minus a discount).

THe amount decided is irrelevant in the big scheme of things. ANy amount decided by the FL, and agreed by Sisu, indicates that they may show some intention to commit to a deal to return. Ditto ACL for acceptanc of such. FL then then nudge them towards th negotiating table perhaps? Pressure to back down from litigation perhaps?

Not if that is what is owed surely? Some people are saying that ACL shouldn't talk until it is paid and shouldn't let the club back, probably the same people who want us to get 30 points deducted.

Get round the table and get an agreement sorted, the conditions can be discussed while negotiating.

Has anyone who's been emailing the FL on this matter had even an acknowledgement email?

I haven't personally and I've been emailing them on a daily basis asking them why they can't call an emergency meeting and sending them links to the story as it unfolds.

Perhaps Simon Gilbert could ask them the question on the record and also ask them why they're aren't communicating with the CCFC fan base at the same time.

The money owed is the money owed, the authorities that will decide that not the fans. As for negotiating, everything must be done possible to get ccfc back for the new season.

I have sent an email a day for the last month just to make a point to be honest and I stopped last week as its become obvious they aren't replying or have blocked me. They are probably fed up of it bless them.

It's the fact that they continually delay making this decision has put the club in limbo land. That should be enough reason for every CCFC fan to want to contact the FL and ask them why.

Whatever decision they make things can at least start moving again as everyone would know where they are.

I can't understand why that's so difficult for you to grasp.

They don't want to negotiate only on their terms (both Sides) neither want to loose face unfortunately we are in the middle.

They just hate each other too much to give in to much bickering has gone on since they last meet..IMO

Also the FL are just spineless cowards led by a Leicester fan who couldn't give a fuck if we go bust or not.

I simply don't understand why any CCFC fan gives a fuck if its 1p or 20 million......how does it affect us fans what the amount is?
Who cares....just get it paid & then we can all move on to the next stupid obstacle placed in the road by either sisu or acl.....

Exactly and Sisu know exactly how much they have to pay. They are just clouding the issue.
All I can say is god help those on here who are justifying Sisu's stance on this and continuously saying its paid if we get another points deduction !

Acl have said no talks until the money owed is paid. Therefore all our efforts should be directed at getting that money paid.

I don't see what is so difficult to understand about that.

My initial email got a response, no reply to my follow-up sent 4th July.

What part of 'they've paid it' don't you understand? The League is deciding how much needs to be paid, not SISU. The fact that ACL have recieved guarantor money and are now expecting full whack from the club actually means they're clouding the issue.

No one is justifying Sisus stance...merely dealing in factual information.

The deadline was the end of May. It can't be that difficult to work out what is owed...why do the FL need a meeting? Sounds like there might be a bit more shoe shuffling to this than we realise.

Had a reply from the FL this afternoon and it isn't their usual we cant comment on a dispute between a club and their landlord reply. It went as thus:-

"The League remains in dialogue with all relevant parties and is unable to provide further comment at this time.

Any further announcements will be issued in due course."

Perhaps I'm being too optimistic but it sounds to me like something might (might) be happening behind the scenes.

Time to up the pressure and as many as possible keep emailing them.

It's the timeline around this that prevents actions and leaves only words .

The subject could and should have been broached by the Club 2-3 months back or directly when they became aware of the other payment .

It's taken 6 months Instead of a couple ,Cart and Horse approach ,Open Letters before settlement .

It's nice to know that you're worried, but it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if the FL said that there was f**k all to pay. All they've done so far is get in the way. ACL, for better or worse made their decision when rejecting the CVA, they'll have to accept what the FL say now.

If you were really worried about my blood pressure by the way, you could pop round and take the kids away for a few hours - they're driving me mental!
