I was wondering if anybody had been there and what their views might be. There are currently some good prices for flights from Spain so we are considering a trip. I really want to know if it is completely americanised or does it retain a certain carribean island charm, and can anyone recommend anywhere to stay etc. ?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The best way to see it is bu Cruise ship. Far more relaxing, fun filled and enetertaining and if you dislike the place when there for a couple of days then you have your ship which will visit several other Caribbean islands! If you end up loving it you can go back there for a longer visit. Besides Flights and a cruise from Florida will be a far cheaper choice.
