I’ve been to Turf Moor on many occasions but only ever had prematch drinks in the cricket ground . My future nephew is driving up for his first away day and wants the atmosphere within a pub , any suggestions ?

Dunno, last time I went (2009) I managed to get in a home fans only place on the street behind the away end. With your acquired accent you might be able to do the same!

They always said avoid the town centre, can’t remember much else, only went once a 4-0 drubbing and Stephen Hughes sent off by half time

Trying to work that one out - you're marrying someone who has a sibling with children?

I went to watch Burnley v Swansea earlier in the season and stopped for a few pints in The Boot Inn before and after the game. Home and away allowed, colours on show and no problems. It's a Wetherspoons so nothing special and can pick up a pint for £2.
