Okay, so basically, bought a ps4 today and went about setting it up etc.

Tried to connect to the internet, with no success, for ages. LAN or Wi-Fi, nothing. Then randomly, it decided it would accept my connection.

I updated to latest PS software before anything else.

Then, set about signing into PSN, bought PSN Plus etc.

I received COD Infinite plus 4 Remastered with the console, and bought FIFA 17, Mafia 3 and Star Wars Battlefront. Began installing these games. Played SW:B briefly then quit to the main menu on the ps4 system.
Then when FIFA had finished installing, I started the game. It auto started with Chelsea v Man U (not sure why), but I thought I'd play this match to get a feel for the game. After about 5 mins (real time) the console beeped then switched off.

I switched it back on, then it said the system didn't shut down properly etc. Then, it went off again. Now however, its starts up, but flashes blue on the LED but on the TV says no HDMI signal. So even though the console is powered up, it does nothing but flash the blue light.

I've tried restarting, trying to enter safe mode, uplugged and plugged back in every cable etc, nothing has changed.

Has anyone else had this issue? Also, I bought it from Asda, should I bring it back to them or would it likely be a Sony issue? I would ask Sony themselves, but they have limited support available, and the UK twitter page signed off at 11pm leaving me waiting an answer.

Take it to a 24 hour asda, especially if you only bought it today

Pull the cable out of back and leave it for 5 mins. Plug back in and it will work.

I will try and return it today. so frustrating, I tried googling it, but it seems I'm the only one with the fault with a new console. it used to happen with the first PS4.

Sounds like you drew the short straw & got a duff one. Guess it would have been easier if it died straight away, before you sank your time into getting it set up.

I think you're entitled to a replacement or refund from the retailer if they sell you something that doesn't work.
