There has been a lot of positivity on here of late, though it did not go unnoticed when the knives came out again quickly when we lost two unexpectedly.

Having said what is the opinion now of what will be achieved this season?

Will we see promotion through the playoffs? Will we make them only to be disappointed? Maybe go up automatically as some believe?

Lets have some thoughts and why...

(I think we will go up through the playoffs)

Yes.. I think our midfield is the strongest perm any 4/5 from 7/8 in the division.. if we can get just another signing with just a touch of pace for when the game is stretched.. then think we can do it for sure.

IMO we will miss out by around 5 points and then go up automatically next season (if we keep Robins).

No chance of auto.

Playoffs I would hope we can reach. As long as we continue our form and don't bottle it.

Once there anything can happen. I'd fancy our chances against anyone, but also can see us losing out in dramatic fashion (late goal conceded, go out on away goals or something)

I can't see us getting automatic, it needs lots of teams to have complete meltdowns.

I've opted for promotion via the play-offs as I think we'll be the team carrying the momentum.

Play up Sky Blues!!!

There is no narrowly escape relegation option.

I believe we can do it but sadly I went for the not this time option as I think the early season form has handicapped us.

25% agree but I'm sure they all (like me) have hope rather than expectation...

Looks like Taylor is all on his own believing we will get automatic promotion, the other 62 voters are obviously all idiots

I though it was anonymous, otherwise I would've went for playoffs.

I think we'll come 4th or 3rd in all honesty, probably failing to get promoted via the playoffs - too much of a lottery.

I also have not called anyone an idiot for disagreeing with the notion.

I've took a photo of the poll results so IF we do get promoted automatically, I will be on my high-horse that's for sure!

Be advised that this is a public poll: other users can see the choice(s) you selected.

When I seen I was on my own I was like  why did you do that,.

Very rookie, BUT, I'm on the mobile which is a simple version, I didn't know it was public.

For the record, at this time, I do NOT think we'll get promoted via autos but, I think it is a possibility.

Just imagine if we go get promoted automatically, I will definitely be rubbing it in.

... If only 'Champions' was an option!

Just to remind you Sky Blue taylor: You are not alone. An after game interview a player said quite clearly the gaffer said we are "going for auto".
Someone with more knowledge than us combined seems to be in your court! (it could just be mind games in the hope it triggers a play off place)

Thanks, I don't, ATM, think we'll get autos, but, I'm on a bit of a downer after the Carlisle and Shrews results, had we have won (or at least not lost!) I'd be a lot more bullish about our chances, but as it stands, I think we'll just come up short.

I think our fans are cynical, perhaps justifiably, I just hope the playing staff and management have a more positive attitude than our fans.

The forum should do a similar thread at the end of every month, that'd be good.

I might be naive, but I got called naive when I 'predicted' Chelsea would win the CL, by a Chelsea fan! Lets hope the same naivety repeats itself!

Why would they not be aiming for automatic?

Still a few concerns.

We are not closing games out well enough and we cannot keep using a get out of jail card of injury time goals to get us through. Too many times we have let teams back into games and been too nervy at the back.

Also don't think we are now scoring enough with the loss of DMC (Preston excepted). Last two games have been 1-0 and 2-1 and game before that we failed to score at all. Both the Tranmere and Oldham games could have ended in draws except for last ditch defending and an injury time winner on Saturday.

Not knocking the defending or the goal, but what I am talking about are the fine margins between success and failure. When you are beating someone 2 or 3 nil these sorts of issues aren't such a problem.

Other problem we have is one of being able to sustain this level of form for another 17 games. And this is something we very much must do.

Not saying we can't do it, but it is still a big ask. Hoping the Shrewsbury and Carlisle games were our blip, but not quite convinced.

Getting something out of both the Preston and Sheff Utd games would be a real boost to our chances.

For us to go up this year, it would have to be by Auto promotion. If we make play offs, I think we'll bottle it. It's a big ask, but not impossible.

If we win the JPT & or get into the playoffs and don't go up! then young Mr M Robins will be snapped up by a championship team in the closed season, its a one shot position we will find ouselves in
