How is there even an argument about this. Whatever you think of Fisher you can't deny he's done something good here.

Sure it wasn't that long ago that this board was full of complaints that the club didn't do any charitable acts (from myself included, tbf!).

So can hardly complain when they actually show what they have been doing...

But arguing's what we do best.

Same when it's anything positive about the city of Coventry in general. Someone always wants to piss all over it.

I agree Chris
I have shown no hatred to TF. Like most people I have no respect for him but don't hate him
I have been called a prick and all sorts on here this afternoon and more "hatred" aimed at me than I have suggested to TF.
A lot of posters should read back what they write and practice a more tolerant and pleasant attitude to other posters with whom they disagree.

Well done to the Club but Fisher is still an asshole. Dunno why posters are getting stick for saying so on here.

No where confirmed as yet for us to play next season, in case you have all forgotten.

People saying fair play for 1 thing doesn't mean they suddenly forget other things does it?

I'd completely forgot it and thought we were still in the Premier League because of this single news item about charity

No-one is getting stick for saying Fisher is an asshole. Fisher is an asshole - it's universally accepted. Twisting and slighting charity work to try and make Fisher look even more of an asshole, when we have a rare occasion to be proud of our club, is what people have got stick for.

I dunno. This thread kind of proves we have a fractured fan base.

Im just saying we need to look at the bigger picture here. He is the chairman of the Club. Yes, fair play for all of this but where are we playing next season? Why the silence and lack of communication?

It's not really a bigger picture, it's a completely different picture that this doesn't distract from for a second.

But people are only saying fair play for this, they aren't saying fair play for lack of news about stadiums etc.

Not everything is either black or white. People can think the club doing this is decent, but then something else isn't decent.

Others seem to strangely thing that nothing can be decent at all, as shown by this thread.

It's the most important question and one that urgently needs answering but should they not bother communicating anything else until they've answered those questions? I'm not even sure the programme notes is the right place for such an update with no opportunity to ask further questions. Can you imagine the programme notes?

Good afternoon and welcome to this afternoon’s fixture against Exeter City. Thank you for being here this afternoon, and welcome to those visiting fans who have made the long trip today.
I'd like to use this opportunity to give you an update today on the Ricoh rent situation.
On Monday I called Wasps but there was no answer.
On Tuesday I called again but left a voicemail.
On Wednesday I got through and spoke to a receptionist who told me to Fuck Off.
On Thursday I called Joy to tell her Wasps won't talk to us while the legals are ongoing and that I'm getting really concerned about where we'll be playing next season. She told me to fuck off too.
On Friday Joy sent me on a works jolly to the middle east fully paid for by CCFC.
On Saturday, I ate through one piece of chocolate cake, one ice-cream cone, one pickle, one slice of Swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon. That night I had a stomach ache.

Enjoy the game,
Timmy. xx

Ah, it makes more sense know. I wondered why no-one was mentioning computers.

In British English, program refers to computer programs and their programming, and programme is used for all other senses of the word. New Zealanders tend to go along with the British distinction, and programme is preferred by government and the media. Australians have for several decades been moving steadily to adopt program for all senses, but programme is still used, albeit much less commonly, and seldom in the media and official publications. Americans and Canadians don’t use programme at all, preferring program for all senses of the word.

Program is inflected programs, programming, programmer, and programmed. Programme makes programmes, programming, programmer, and programmed.

Anyway, back on track. I think Fisher is amazing and he's been doing this kind of thing for years.
Here he is at Live Aid:

Given what has gone on and Fishers previous antics it is hard not to look at this without a level of cynicism, even to ask why was he really in Northern Iraq.

BUT in terms of the image of CCFC it can only be good can't it. Hopefully it will all be placed in the hands of SBITC and that's the end of Fishers involvement.

Not really sure why people are having a pop on this thread.

Yes, Fisher is an arse, we know that. This project is nothing other than good though, and we really should be supporting it in every way.

These are genuine refugee children, many who have probably got nothing left. Even I'll say give the politics a rest for a bit and get behind this. Fisher/the club have made a really positive move here in my opinion. Well done to them.
