I got my work shoes from a company called LANX. Hugely recommend them if you're after some smart casual shoes, I've got a pair of a Loake as well and these are far better quality.

Monday to Thursday I wear a shirt, trousers and shoes. If I am with a customer then I'll wear a tie too but that is a rarity at the moment. If I'm on site it's polo and jeans or full PPE.

Friday is dress down day.

Personally I think dressing smart does put you more in a working mindset but understand its not for everyone.

I bought a pair of Loakes last year and have to say as much as they are smart and extremely comfortable not sure they’re worth the £270 I paid for them and won’t be in a rush to buy another pair.

Office wear is gradually becoming a thing of the past. I imagine most offices are already dress down. Dressing up to meet clients makes me laugh as their offices tend to be dress down as well. Wouldn’t be surprised to see that stop soon.

I work from home three days a week, so no-one knows what I wear.
And that's a good thing because it's often what I wore the night before, or something equally comfortable.
When I go into the office, I'm pretty casual, pants, a shirt and sandals. No tie, no jacket.
The dress code cannot discriminate between women and men.
All the women wear sandals all year (It's very hot in Arizona).
No men wear suits or ties EVER.
Personally, I havent worn a tie or a suit in decades.
They would be strictly for weddings or funerals and I haven't had to attend any of those.

Don’t you get any stares when you show up in pants?

They will last you ages and you can send them back to have the sole replaced and they also tidy them up while they are there, I own about four pairs but don’t wear them anymore as I wear work boots to work now.

It’s a strange one but really down to the culture of the company and sometimes the industry. We always had shirt and tie but we were brought out by a French company and they all do not wear ties. You were sat in meetings where you were the only one wearing a tie so I stopped. Personally I’m happy in a suit as it’s my ‘work mode’ and actually hate dress down days (still throw in the quid to charity). We now have dress down each Friday and i personally never partake but some people dress like they are off to Ibiza after work!

The sole fell off mine... I was very disappointed!!!! Certainly didn’t pay that... I could get full suit for £270 and still have change for a pocket handkerchief
