Private Seat Licence (SPL) (1 Viewer)

Do any of you remember (approx six years ago) the then initiative of Paul Fletcher (MD of CCFC) to bolster the transfer kitty of one Micky Adams via a unique ffund raising scheme ???

As ever eager to support anything for the Sky Blue cause I duly paid £375 and received a humungus sized "Private Seat Licence" certificate with the logo at the top reading True Sky Blue duly signed by PF.

The first benefit I noticed was my stand seat being padded and my name (not johnniericoh by the way, LOL) affixed underneath and also this seat was declared legally and phsically MINE forever.

Another benefit was discounts at the SB shop followed by a serious real value for money benefit in that if CCFC went up to the PL I would only be charged the same price I paid in the previous year - yes, got it in writing.

And the other benefits were ....er.....well......er......

I believe there were approximately another 1000 of us suck... - sorry investors who raised about £400K all told for Micky to "make a number of key signings"

I wonder if PF took this brilliant scheme to Burnley when he left CCFC.

And the rest is history

I was amazed at the up-take on this. Very generous of all those who could afford to do it, but I remember thinking (with no offence meant to opening poster of course) "surely nobody is that stupid to pay for this"

everyone going to the next 2 home games pays an extra £10 per match and we should have enough to buy ALF

Don't you still have to pay for a season ticket though? I have often sat on padded seats where the fella has obviously not renewed his season ticket. They are not that much different.

The lad next to me had one last season and they moved it for him and the name plack etc so assume like you say that its ones who haven't renewed that remain

The guy next to me didn't renew and his padding and name was removed.

Yes still have to pay ST on top of that one off £375 but the real and only significant benefit was the first Prem ST being the same as previous season, again as a one off.

Do you think SISU know of the ST agreement?? Bet your hoping we go up this season with this seasons prices :)

I must admit i considered it when it was announced, but didnt go through with it (fortunately). Looking at it now, the 'investors' havent really benefitted. Have you seen the colour of the padded seats nowadays?? They used to be sky blue. :)

Oh, and have you noticed the error in your post title?? Scottish Premier League?? :)

Well folks, I have just returned from my local club having consumed more than a few Nigerian Lagers (Guinness) and noticed I have been assailed by Rob 9872 for being "stupid" and SW88 of not entering PSL correctly.

To both I plead guilty as charged !!!

"Stupid" as it may seem but my allegience to CCFC has nearly cost me my job, marriage and my sanity so my financial input of £375 to the SKY Blue cause I do not regret one single iota.

Sorry for the slight typo ref SPL/PLS/PSL (whatever) but after 47 years of supporting my beloved club I don't give a s--t - so there.

Like many other fans, I was disappointed that to be a "TRUE SKY BLUE" we were expected to fork out £375 for a padded seat. It should have been a padded cell. More bad news for Fletcher.;)
