Everyone was pretty good today. Eccles was the only disappointment.

Good to see Sheaf back on the pitch.

Did you not see the blocks and covering he did and the 2 passes into the box that nearly created goal opportunities?

It's difficult when you're wearing blinkers

Tbf to Torch he's normally an Eccles fan. It's Sheaf he hates.

I usually end up arguing on two fronts with all of you as I like both

That's fair enough but I didn't see anyone as a disappointment today . Yes there were some bad passing at times but we were trying to be progressive and get the ball forward fast

Sometimes I see the ratings given and wonder if I watched the same game. This is one of them. To me nobody deserves a 5.

I don't hate Sheaf. I don't hate any player. Just unconvinced he's the brilliant midfield genius he's touted as being. And, as I said, it's good to have him fit again. Hopefully he'll be injury free for the rest of the season.

As for Eccles, I don't think his performance today is going to convince FL to keep him in the team.

Think we'll see the true Sheaf alongside Grimes...I've felt since his run of form last season he's been either shadowed by the opposition and/or playing when not truly match fit
If we don't get promoted this season....would love to them play alongside each other next season

Got done by a simple ball over the top for the goal

It was about 6 inches off the ground at its highest point. It virtually stayed on the grass from the moment it was passed.

How tall do you think Bidwell is 3 inches?

Everyone played well and it was a great team performance. It was good to see us playing on the front foot, it makes such a difference. We have two good wingers and a ball playing deep lying playmaker, so it absolutely makes sense.

Preston switched tactics first half and shape second, yet we still dominated which is fantastic and the sign we’ve got things right personnel and tactics wise.

Especially pleased to see Simms, Rudoni and Sakamoto put in stand out performances. Three players written off on here at different points this season, yet three talented players. The former two have a high ceiling, Rudoni especially.

Eccles was wasteful on the ball at times, but he was picking up excellent positions and increasingly wanted the ball.

Grimes makes a big difference.

Their goal came from their centre midfielder taking on Rudoni in the middle of the pitch passing it to another who fed it between Paterson and Bidwell. If anyone was to blame it was Paterson as he didn’t track his player who then crossed it for Keane to put it into the net.

And what happened a few seconds before that...

It was the kind of thing that Dasilva gets crucified for, that was the point being made.

Eccles had an absolute stinker. A string of badly weighted passes, crap free kick, missed opportunities to keep momentum going. It just got worse and worse. Should have been pulled for Allen a lot lot sooner

He did however slip a beautiful pass EMC's way and had a beautiful pop at goal that went wide but his technique is a thing of beauty.

I thought Eccles worked hard defensively but technically was a bit off, there were a few passes either over or underhit that put the brakes on what could have been productive moves. As we won though, I also couldn't give the slightest fuck

Yeah he had a reasonable enough game overall but his passing was generally poor by his standards

Not it wasn’t you said it was a ball over the top for the goal. Looks at the video of their goal if a ball over the top was part of the reason they scored it would have been shown in the clip.

Dovin 7 - solid
MVE 7 - thought he was much better today
Thomas 8 - another goal
Kitching 6 - couple of slack passes, particularly one towards the end of the game.
Bidwell 6 - did enough
Grimes 8 - looked like he was playing in slippers. Assured, comfortable, keeps us ticking over really nicely
Eccles 7 - improvement on some really dire performances this season. Some nice passes in the first half.
Rudoni 9 - MOTM. Excellent again.
EMC 7 - still growing in confidence, definitely more good stuff to come from him.
Simms 8 - good shift again, really putting himself about well.
Sakamoto 7 - better today, looked a little bit more like the Saka/MVE right hand side from last season.

Dovin 6.5 - Didnt have too much to do, so cant really rate him higher
MvE 7 - Good display looked like he did last season at times, made some good runs good ball retention and defensive work
Thomas 8.5 - good defensive display winning most of his duels and great header for the goal
Kitching 7 - Solid, made a peach of a pass to Milan that just fell a CM or so out of his stride, overall decent defensive show
Bidwell 6 - looked really rusty at the start but grew into the game as it went on goal came from his side though not all on him of course
Grimes 8 - Quality DM performance great with the ball and makes us look a lot more solid and settled, him and Sheaf paired together is gonna be some midfield
Eccles 6.5 - Good performance but due to a lack of gametime recently obviously tired to the end and needed to come off maybe a little earlier, worked hard and passed the ball well
Rudoni 9 - A complete number 10 display from him today only thing stopping him getting a 10 is his dueling lost quite a lot of the ones he contested
Sakamoto 7.5 - looked back to being him on the wing, did his little cut forward cut back trick again successfully, should have scored if it wasnt for a great save from their keeper
Simms 7 - I want to rate him higher but the missed chances just stop me if he connects he scores and he worked hard and fought till the end great number 9 play against a physical team
EMC 8 - great ball in for the goal, lively as ever its almost as if he was never out injured a key player for us and Frank is gonna have selection issues for sure

SUBS:
Paterson 6 - good cross in to the box just missed by simms and Tats almost got to it at the backpost, showed a little bit of good footwork on the ball however didnt track back enough and was beaten too easily for the goal, it will come though will prove to be a shrewd acquisition
Allen and Sheaf N/A - not enough time on field
