It's all Connor Thomas' fault!

I'm sure SP will tell us the players work ethic and application was excellent.

Bad day at the office. Very bad day.

I'm not a fan of booing but even I felt like booing that performance (I didn't though).

Too many no shows along with a shit ref but that's an all too familiar thing in football now a days

Garbage - no shots on target, Tudguy waste of space - the passing was dreadful - no movement off the ball. It seemed an age to get the City back to The Ricoh, never once went to Sixfields - but to be honest after this performance I think it maybe back to saturday afternoon Golf!!

0-3 Preston today. They are far superior than us imo. Obviously hope to be massively wrong.

Not far wrong. I'm sorry but Preston are a lot better than us. It was a simple result to predict.

I agree with this system it doesn't work. Once behind then you lose. What a shame and so pointless. We don't score any goals. No goals in the last two Saturday's. No shots on target. Embarrassing

Yep, and its a shit system that obviously isn't working. Having no shots on target in a home game is truly woeful.

I don't disagree. Clarke cannot attack and Haynes cannot defend. The midfield is bunched and strangled and the forwards have no presence.

Im not sure who else we get in to be honest. I think we need to stick with him. He's learning too and I think he will. We are angry now but he seems intelligent enough to turn it around and I think he will. Changing managers every season hasn't done us any good so far has it. Let's keep the stability.

Isn't the first time an ex player has pointed out about the system.

No doubt it will be blamed on rubbish players because we haven't bought the German National Side or something.

It's supposed to be entertainment and it's a lot of money. It's a hollow threat coz I will still go but it's not much fun is it?

You can't blame the system for every player playing shite. Every single one has lost their personal battle today.

Preston have been fitter stronger quicker and used the ball much better than us.

But if the players aren't being utilised correctly and are therefore isolated then the system makes a huge difference.

Have no doubt, the formation is the MAIN problem

Why the hell was Tudgay not making a run in front of Swanson then?

Will be wondering that until I reach my grave. At times Tudgay has a complete reluctance to go forwards. Nearly every movement is sideways or back. Really puzzled as to why Jackson went off and Tudgay was left on.

Its pointless having players like Jackson when we don't provide any chances for him. Such a waste playing in such a non creative team.

A lot of these players have played at a higher level. It's a perfectly capable squad at this level. It's not the players, it's the tactics. Today is not the issue, Preston are a decent team but to play at home and not have a shot on target all game is ridiculous.

or perhaps it's because the manager knows less about football than the average forum poster.

seriously which is more likely? we are struggling because we vastly cut the wage budget and recruited under extremely difficult circumstances with little to spend while changing the majority of the squad and filling the rest with kids or that the manager knows less about football tactics than a vocal few here?

It's a bad excuse. Most players in the team are more than good enough for this level. It's the same excuse we used for Andy Thorn for too long.

Well the players we have are better than what we saw today. That was truly shocking. Awful. We cannot go through the season creating so few chances in games. It's going to kill us.

Sorry our wage budget is bigger than Rochdale and Scunthorpe.

Preston are no wage colossus either and no shots on target at home is not acceptable.

That was anything but fun today bud. Surprised I lasted till the 80th min tbf. We were awful and I really can't remember a game at home where we showed absolutely nothing

I do think it was quite key that O'Brien had such an off day. I know many players were awful, but he just seemed completely out of sorts and especially off key.

Not quite at the Thorn stage but yes, the team he had probably shouldn't have been relegated and this one shouldn't be failing to register a shot on target.

Preston showed exactly what you need in this league, I've been saying it for 3 years - physicality and a bit of nastiness. We're too weak.

Well we probably need to bring in 2 central midfielders and a left winger on loan if we go to 442, otherwise we'll have a powderpuff midfield.

They attacked from the off, we didn't. What I don't understand today, why did we constantly hoof the ball up to Jackson who is 5ft nothing. Preston centre halves had such an easy day... Tudgay yet again offered nothing and was disappointed he was taken off instead of jackson

We hoofed it because preston pressed and gave us little other option than to hoof. No plan b

Only when we matched their high energy for that first 5 or 7 mins of the second half did we compete on anything like an equal footing. We have strength at the back in Willis, Webster and Johnson, but we can't compete physically in the midfield area at all.
