I'm inclined to agree with the first part of this - if there were any truth to this, surely PWKH isn't going to confirm it on Page 4 of a thread on Sky Blues Talk? And no, I'm not saying he's lying, I'm merely pointing out that if this were true it would probably not be confirmed on here before a statement was issued to the press.

However, I'm still skeptical that there was any interview. I just find the concept of Haskell talking to anyone at this stage difficult to believe. Hope my skepticism is wrong, personally.

Can a reputable paper like the Sunday times make up an interview and publish it? If it never happened Preston could sue them?

Also as PWKH said on the radio he really can't talk about buyers or get ahead of themselves as the club is due in high court on tues and we need to await that outcome.

Peter also said there are 4 parties interested.

If the court rules in favour of Acls case on Tues then Sisu will be turfed out ASAP and hopefully buyers will be forthcoming.

Interesting times and hopefully a club will rise from the ashes once more and we can all talk footy again.

The same Sunday Times which published the bullshit about the 'Qatari Dream League' a couple of weeks ago.

We are a L1 team which ensures that the national press have no 'inside' knowledge...just repeating what they hear from the likes of the CET and CWR....there ends this story!

They want the club to control and have an interest in the development of the area because it will give the club extra income which they will need to finance operations at higher levels. It will also make the club have a better asset base which might be important in future.

That should be an decision for any potential owner to make, not something that is forced on them. If the owner of CCFC wants to diversify and create more income streams then all well and good but it's not right to force it on them as a condition of any sale.

Warwick beat me to the punch with the point about the Qatari Dream League. Although that was a different journo. I don't know about making up interviews, I would have thought that sort of thing was frowned upon legally speaking, but I still don't buy that the story is 100% legit.

I agree about PWKH though....and yes, your last point is one I think we all agree with.

I'm not saying they didn't make it up....British Football Journalists making up stories when there is little other news to report (due to no Prem/Champ football and the snow), nah, can't be!!

There is even more detailed as part of a half page match report on page 5....all of the info in that is old hat, or could be obtained by simple internet searches.

In my opinion for the latest on such stories, look to the local people for the latest and most accurate info.

1. No smoke without fire
2. Re: PWKH - loose tongues cost lives
3. Re: AFCCOVENTRY - you don't really believe what the papers say...& I & many SB fans share your hope, just don't let it run away with you as the possible disappointment at the end could result in an even greater low
4. After so many yrs of mismanagement I'm finally beginning to understand the Spurs (or was it Arsenal?) fan I heard back in the mid '90s on the radio when asked about ther forthcoming fixture. His reply was "Coventry...uh...what is the point?"

Sorry PWKH. I think you maybe playing the story down. First time I have read Preston talk about Coventry like this to the press! You don't want too much detail out which I completely agree on. But someone has interviewed him and he seems interested.

"Coventry has a fantastic fan base - over 30,000 attended a Johnstone' Paint Trophy game this season - and I want to bring that support back into the club by inviting the supporters trust to take 20% of its shares. I also want to bring Joe Elliott back as Coventry's chairman. He's a man who bleeds Sky Blue and who is furious about what the current owners have done to his club."[/QUOTE]

WOW!!
I missed this. This sounds like a real statement of intent and could not be falsified by the press. I think if this man is in the wings with ACL then Mr K-H probably does know more than he is letting on but is wise not to say anything. I just hope someone making statements like this have the minerals to back up their claims. As said before with all the previous suitors w've had over the years it's foolish to build up my hopes but I just can't help myslef

Where this article differs from most is that in contains direct quotes from the man rather than using "according to sources...". Any paper in these times of media scrutiny and accountability would be reluctant to quote someone directly in this way I think.

Having said that I would've thought if there was any truth in there being a serious bid here then PKWH would've just not commented rather than issue an outright denial so I really don't think it's going to happen.

If these quotes are direct, why haven't they been picked up by the CET,CWR and SBT?

Surely the bloke would have made contact with someone connected with the fans/locality etc.? Maybe he has, but for a national newspaper to be taking the lead on this with the latest news just seems a little hard to believe.

Jeez, I hope it's true, but I just have this nagging doubt....if the CET or CWR had anything about them, they ring the ST and ask how they spoke to this geezer and contact him directly.

I'm not putting words into your mouth mark, I am asking you a question. Do you think that this is a bad idea?

To me, it seems to be the best idea since someone worked out how to automatically separate loaves of bread into toast-able slices on an industrial scale, and then successfully market this idea.

I genuinely think that SISU's behaviour should offend and disgust all intelligent, rational, decent people - and I do not understand why some are defending them so passionately. No satisfactory explanation has thus far been put forward. No-one has even attempted to do so.

I think Mark is trying to suggest that you read, consider & try to understand - even ask questions to try to understand more. Rather than resorting to what I guess is the equivalent of simply shouting-down others that have a different view.

I'm thinking same Warwick unless he's dealt with the journalist before and he's given them some sort of 'exclusive'.

Doesn't surprise me that the CT haven't got hold of it as they seem to be behind on everything that's going on and as for CWR, Stuart Linnell is probably far too busy trying to get more answers from ACL to please his SISU friends in Mayfair to even have noticed the story!

I'm still confused though after PWKH said the bloke wasn't in the game. Sounds great, but we've had hopes like this before.

I have asked those questions time and again, and never had a satisfactory response from anyone who sides with SISU. There's just a defeaning silence, followed by snide claims that I have a secret agenda of loving ACL and/or wanting the club to fold, both of which are untrue. I have lost count of the times I have asked people to explain their defence of SISU in terms other than glib comments along the lines of "there is no alternative" or "problems began with BR"...

I have tried this so often, and got nothing in response, that I can't be bothered now. I am so frustrated that a few people take the side of SISU, seemingly out of genuine loyalty, thus denying us all a united front against SISU

It would be good if all this came off, I just can't see it happening, lots of contradictory reports coming out, the most telling one coming from PWKH.
I disagree with a lot of your posts and tend to agree with SOME of what grendel and torch post, I see a lot of hypocrisy on here concerning the acl v sisu situation which I always disagree with. Does this make me a sisu arse licker, I don't think so

A couple of points. You do want the club to be wound-up. You've stated it on more than one occasion and it's not just me who has picked you up on it.

The problems did begin with BR, compounded by McGinnity and then taken to a new level by SISU.

Lastly, SISU are CCFC and I support CCFC, so I would support them over ACL/CCC 100 times out of a 100, because in their own way ACL have contributed to the mess we find ourselves in.

I can't be bothered either anymore.
