I’m wondering. Is it really difficult & confusing to throw praise and support on Pressley knowing he is being funded and fully supported by the owners you hate so much. Must be an odd situation for some.

There's not really too much of a contradiction to struggle with. It would require an acknowledgement that not every single decision they've made is a bad one, but it's entirely feasible to hate the owners regardless of what the team and coaching staff do.

Even if those owners are allowing the management & coaching staff to achieve their goals by supporting them & their ideology?

not difficult to split the two, sisu are still scum, imagine what kind of job he'd be doing with decent owners who fund you to buy players, not loans and freebies.

Like when we bought Freddie Eastwood you mean? Or Chris Dunn, Cody McDonald?
Why buy something if you can get something just as good for free? No point spending for the sake of it.

Maybe if the club was run properly { and I suspect that apart from the Northampton debacle it is being run more economically now} then it would be all the normal revenue streams provided by the supporters and TV that would fund the club. The work Pressley has done is what a manager of a club has to do at our level and that is bring on the academy lads. Perhaps if SISU and previous owners hadn't thrown a bundle of cash at incompetents like Coleman, Thorn, Dowie and Boothroyd then we could have started reversing our fortunes before it got to this.
All that said, football is only an investment for the foolhardy and most sugar daddies just end up subsidising the payment of overpaid players !

Yeah, because those same owners have also taken the club out of its city and lumped it 30+ miles away to nobody's delight.

There's no hard rules about hate meaning you either hate everything they do or nothing after all.

I don't think I've been classed as one of the apologist usual suspects, or just haven't paid attention. Being criticised on here is like praise from Caesar.

Only worth spending if you can get better than what's available for free

Imagine if they didn't listen to Ranson and brought the ground instead of paying shit like Bell, Eastwood, McSheffrey and Doyle (to name a select few) fortunes. The side Andy Thorn got relegated had an annual wage bill of 8.7 million pounds; Yeovil have a current budget of around 700k. The problem with these owners like all before them was spending magic money we didn't have, not the reverse.

They're not getting slammed by me for what they've done this season, it should've happened years ago that we stopped paying poor players fotunes or giving has beens their last pay day.

As most on this board may have worked out I am no SISU fan, In fact the reveres is true. I dislike almost everything about them.

But I will say this. The club seems to be being run in a more business like manner and that has to be good. The strategy around the footballing side under SP is compellingly attractive. The only negative is SISU stance over the RICOH and their failure to be able to negotiate on reasonable terms, the fact that our team plays 34 miles away and SISU seem content that this continues demonstrates that they dislike and have contempt for the fans.

SISU have a golden opportunity, get us back to the RICOH now, with a stated aim to buy it all sometime in the future when they have built up trust with the fans, the folk of Coventry and CCC (at a commercial rate) This would not make me like Fisher or JS or make me forget the years of shit SISU have caused the loyal CCFC fans, but it would at least be grounds for forgiveness.

Don't understand why you think it's difficult to hate what sisu are doing and love what Presley is doing

I don't get your point unless you are after praise for SISU.

They hired Waggott. One of the rare things that they have got right. Waggott chose MR and then Elvis. Between them they have brought through the academy players. SISU have been lucky that we have enough of them that have been good enough to make the remainder of the squad on the cheap.

This, this, this!

Been saying for ages that Sisu's 'under-investment' is a huge myth. It's bad investment that's generally been the problem. The only time they can be accused of under-investment in my opinion is the relegation season. The club was run shambolically that season, of that there's no denying.

The signs now are good that the investments are actually being properly thought through and considered. If we end up back in Coventry on a deal good for the club, I'd feel like things had moved significantly forward for the first time under Sisu.

I've no idea whether SP would be better with more funds. I gather his philosophy is on building up from youth. That's why SISU hired him. He is doing a very good job under the circumstances. Some people were calling for his head last season, seems unbelievable now.

Let's hope the terrible circumstances at the club, do not make him look elsewhere like MR.

Looks like Dunn is now playing in the championship. Maybe take him off that list

You have this spot on. The other interesting element though is the youth are here to be developed. The youth were already here. Rioch has brought them on...but who spotted them? bet nobody on here knows?

I think Dunn came to us for free (end of contract). He was signed to cover Murphy and never really had a long enough run
in the team to show his worth.

So is that the end of Murphy then after last week. Takes 11 players to let in a goal they all have the opportunity to clear the lines.
It is always the goalies fault but when a striker misses a sitter he's having one of them games???

A conspiracy theorist might suggest the lack of funds and relegation from the championship was deliberate....then the withdrawing of rent trying to distress ACL...League 1. You can buy your way out....no surely not?

As mad as a moon landing in Texas.
