The stats for 2014 suggest that formation and 442 in particular will have very little impact :

2013/14 442
P 23 W5 D7 L11 GF25 GA36 =22 points 0.95 points per game 1.09 goal for a game , 1.56 goals against per game,

2014/15 352
P12 W3 D4 L5 GF13 GA16 13 points 1.08 points per game, 1.08 goals for per game, 1.33 goals against per game.

Not sure what the answer is, our success under Robins was 4231

For the 13/14 is that after Clarke left then? Didn't we switch to 5-3-2 at the back end of last season for a bit as well?

Post matches get worse.

15 mins of good play, that was it.

Should have pressed on from the goal pulled back; they were panicking!

its the whole of 2014 so includes a couple of games Clarke was here. I don't think we played 532 at all last season?

It is all well and good going on and on about a system and how good it is and a philosophy but you have to have the players for it. It is all well and good using words like mantra and philosophy but that doesn't make you a good manager. It is using the system that suits your group of players and getting the most out of THOSE players that makes you a good manager.

Think that's what I was saying wasn't it?

Oh yea I see what you mean.

I've just checked an I think we played it twice in the wins at Stevenage and Crewe late on in the season.

I was in the chippy opposite the ground after the game (highlight of the day) and a crewe fan was on the phone to his friend telling him how they were hanging on at the end. He sounded almost as deluded as Pressley. We offered absolutely fuck all apart from the brief flurry after the break. It was dreadful to watch. I didn't even celebrate the goal when we scored...I think that may be a 1st. They didn't deserve it, it didn't excite me and certainly didn't fill me with any belief that we may do the unthinkable and come up with a barnstorming comeback.

Just attempting to analyses the ethics of the system confused the fuck out of me. Tippy tappy (and risky at times) passing amongst the back four, into O'Brien who, as hard as he tries, didn't really excel in the playmaking role he was given and lost possession of at too often. We gave away countless fouls - needlessly too -which prevented us from gaining any momentum and frustrated our supporters even more.

Allsop I'm afraid to say is the worst goalkeeper I can recall ever pulling on the shirt. We have made do with 3 players offered to us from the Wilson deal when we should be out scouring our own targets. He stays on his line, doesn't come for crosses, slows the play down and distribution is appalling. Such a wet lettuce. I am a fan of Willis and also Aaron Phillips who offers far more than shitty Jordan Clarke. Hines was half decent but thinks he's a bit of a rio Ferdinand trying over complicated passes and turns. Conor Thomas is another who shouldn't be in the 1st team. What Liverpool saw in him I will never now. Jackson and McQuoid although decent individually can't play together - on today's showing anyway - and we are struggling for goals, chances and penetration in the final 3rd.

As for Pressley, I must confess to being slightly pleased when he signed his contract a few weeks back but things can change awfully quickly and my opinion certainly has. I can't listen to his press conferences any longer; they are so corny, cringey and fucking repetitive! He talks a good game about his hopes and dreams..potential about being a big club, we deserve better blah blah but he's been saying this since day one. The player turnover has been higher than ever yet he still bums youth players (not literally) as if they're the class of fucking 92. Jack Finch, my god...I thought Jordan Clarke was bad..this boy is something else. He isn't ready and shouldn't have been exposed by Pressley after a good game in the under 12's.

4 defeats in 5 against the opposition we've had is unacceptable. He shouldn't be coming out protecting the players or his tactics after that. Every single sky blue fan there today saw how shite that was..watch it back on the video tonight whilst you're eating your birthday cake you blind kilt wearer!

That's 3 Saturdays in the row you have ruined with your bloody 5-3-2!! I can't take much more...dreading next Saturday!

People to blame:

Joy Seppala the finances.

Tim Fisher Vision and direction

Waggott Contracts Signings and Sales

Pressley Coaching Tactic Selection

Players 11 out there in the first half not competing and following their managers instructions or following their instincts, it's not like they have only been playing the game since September. They are paid to play football and should be capable of playing any formations. Schoolboys can play more than one formation.

The club is a rudderless shambles and if you are going to blame one person, you are as clueless as you claim Pressley is.
