It may be too soon to judge but even so I'm going to own up here. I did not consider Pressley was a particularly good appointment. Mark Robin's was and proved to be. Now Elvis seemed timid, coming from a less than average league in Scotland and has seemed so conciliatory that one could suggest we had a SISU puppet in tow, at times of cut backs.
He has side-lined experienced players and a lot on here disagree with that.
However he seems to have moulded a team together with experience and inexperience, giving players like Wilson their heads ahead of the bomb squad and so far the team attack and score for fun it seems, regardless of the opposition. The intricate play and confidence is clear to see and fitness seems at a higher level too.
Another 4 against a strong looking Preston side, one of the promotion favourites and we are the top goal scorers in the country!
The back though seems to have a problem but were all the goals yesterday directly the fault of the defence?
Got to say I'm warming to this guy and beginning to see what he is doing. Is it just good fortune shining on us so far? No I believe it's not. You can see the players look confident and are expecting good results. They also look like they are under less pressure playing at Sixfield's it must be said.
Pressley's interview was spot on and I like his tone of support for all his players. I sincerely hope this continues and he goes on to be a very good manager for us. It could not have been easy rejecting the likes of Mc.Sheffrey and others from the squad altogether, yet he obviously has more balls than I thought when he arrived. I'm beginning to get the feeling the players are liking him too...
