SP will not step away or be pushed he is failing into line with the owners in keeping up with the after match comments, call it denial, deluded or just playing stupid i'm not sure... His commitment is there but even he must know now certain players again will be sold to fund next years running of the club and sub standard players will be offered him in replace..

The one thing i'm sure of is, if this standard and results carry on the way they are going the more i feel SP is just playing along to pick up the wage knowing he is on safe ground with the club and knowing progression will be hard to gain....

It was a bit of a harsh sacking IMO. That would have been success for us under, say, Coleman!

I dont disagree with that really. I just dont believe that if Robbins had have hung around longer he wouldn't have been unfarely sacked by SISU by now either.

I do actually believe in pressley, I genuinely think he's trying to turn us around, behind the scenes I think he is trying to shake off the club which is known as just getting along and not really pushing for anything. For example the scouting structure, by the sounds of it he is trying to create foundations for the future all be it, that we won't get any short term instant success, but in the long run I think if we can keep hold of him then we will succeed .it's the mentally around the club in general which I think he's trying to alter. However saying that it doesn't help when he doesn't get any support from the board all the tittle tattle with the council and all the stadium business ultimately has had an effect on the playing squad, if we could have sorted out a deal for the Ricoh throughout the Summer then we could have had a different squad on that field today! I think he needs time, won't get any major success in the near future, all needs to be put into place and we may not really see the big benefits for a few seasons. The past has wrecked this club. It's been falling to pieces for years and it's about time someone starts to rebuild this club.!

Probably lose Fleck on a free when his contract expires. Maybe not such a loss, but it depends who replaces him...maybe lose Haynes in a year or so, bout 200-300k?

Exactly. Someone new could come in and we could have a honeymoon period where we string some results together and finish above the relegation places but ultimately our owners have no desire to progress, so ultimately you can change the managers as often as you like and nothing will change.

Its SISU who need to go, not SP.

The consensus at the time was that MR moved for more money and yes, there is no doubt something in that but I also believe that he moved as he could not see any future with the present owners. Nothing has changed there!

There are managers in football who can work with shitty owners, we're hardly an exclusive club in that regard.

It probably is too late for SP. I admit that. I just think he could have done alot better under different owners. It suits SISU to have failing managers because it takes the attention of them. This thread being started prooving that point exactly. I doubt the OP would ever start a "its time for SISU to go" thread. He's only too willing to start this one though.

Perhaps thats what LAST means when he says some defend SISU by stealth? Mmmmm?

I didn't say what price anyone would demand or get but if you think clubs will not be knocking our door for Haynes, Willis and Maddison you might be in for a shock come Jan.. And lets not go down this rd of they haven't done anything and are not good enough,, because no matter of opinion they will gain interest from others..

Can't help but feel it's giving them too much credit by suggesting being shit is part of their masterplan. I reckon they're just shit.

Robins has proved to be a successful manager in this division, with Rotherham, City and is now doing it at Scunthorpe. Lower championship is probably his level.

On the other hand, it is hard to know what level Pressley is at. He was not successful in a dire Scottish league, and bar two months has not been successful here. His record indicates he can't cut it in this division.

Time will tell his level, but I suspect it's lower than league one.

I think I hold the very same opinion Wingy. Any owner that claims to be £70m+ in debt would have off-loaded the Club, or even liquidated by now. Deeper thought should be applied to their reasoning by all of us.

This will be the first season since the early eighties I don't go to a single game. 18 years a ST holder. Not the club I grew up supporting. Pressley is a clown, the owners are clueless, and the local council have sold the stadium built for football club, to a bunch of opportunist rugger buggers. Congratulations.

I wish I understood why the hell they are still here, because I haven't a clue what their end game is and what they hope to achieve.
If its a complete fuck up then they are doing just fine.

We the fans still and will always have the ultimate power.
the way it's going crowds soon will fall below 5000, because in the end who will pay £20 , or £40/£60 if taking family to watch that pile of shit every other week. For that money you must expect some entertainment but there is sweet FA at the moment.

There is getting less and less appeal to go and watch ,and there is now so many saying it's the worst football they have ever seen Cov play that this appalling product on show and the total lethargy surrounding the club will bite into even the most hardy of souls.

If crowds drop below 6000 heading towards 5000 SISU will have no option to sack the clueless Scottish clown.he couldn't even be successful in the pub league that is Scottish league one, yet SISU for so e unknown reason thought to give him a go.

His post match interviews are getting more bizarre by the week and his comments are nothing short of embarrassing .the sooner he goes the best chance we have of staying in this wonderful league, how sad is it to say that ,but he must go and soon, but we the fan hold the power in this.

He often talks about how hard everyone is trying to bring good results to the club. People who've met him can vouch for how much passion he has for the club and that he has a good attitude.

Taking that into account and how shite both performances and results are, it's hard to defend him staying. He's just a crap manager. Not a good one who can't be arsed, crap. Who should replace him? Harder question to answer but I think just his departure would have a huge positive effect on the team.

One time under Micky Adams one of the people sat behind us got so fed up he started humming the circus tune. A lot more fun than the game.
