He seems to think the CVA will solve all his problems.....doesn't he realize that our company accounts also need to be signed off and submitted before the embargo will be lifted?

As with everything in the press, things need to be put into context. The comments regarding the adjournment were made in response to a question, the interview's on the club website. Of course he's aware accounts need signing off. He's the one being shafted by the owners, he's the one trying to work with his hands behind his back and keeps hitting a brick wall so I would suggest he is more than aware about the accounts needing to be signed off. If rumours are to be believed he's had enough and won't be here much longer, that should please a few people until we wheel in the next 'sitting duck'.

It's a contrived stunt ... ask by SISU to comment on the situation so that the fans get behind the CVA sign off and hence put pressure on the Council and ACL to agree and shut up ... all a stunt ... Stay stern ACL / Council do nothing ... sign off nothing ... agree nothing ... NOPM !

Everyone is frustrated but we ALL have to 'get in with it', SUPPORT THE MANAGER, PLAYERS & TEAM as a whole regardless of any personal feelings about owners or ownership! PUSB!
Still firmly believe Coventry City Council, ACL & the Higgs Trust ALL have a lot to answer for????

Why do people think Pressley is a good manager ? the end of last season was a shambles including a 4-0 defeat to Walsall.

Because he's had 9 games, many of which were after a points deduction and without the squad's main/only goal threat. In addition to this, the matches were treated effectively as pre-season friendlies, trying out several fringe/youth players to see if they'd make the grade.

I don't think we can judge him as good or bad yet. Writing him off as a manager on the strength of 9 largely meaningless games (in which our record wasn't THAT bad) is downright ludicrous.

Who said he is a good manager? I think opinion is divided somewhere between the "He's shit" brigade because there is something they've taken a dislike to/of - & the "Jury's out" brigade who have yet to decide because he has hardly had a chance to do much yet.
His task is an incredibly difficult one though given all the negativity off the pitch.

I think he's a bit deluded if he thinks we will be realistic promotion challengers with this current squad. Unsure about his tactics, and this whole bomb squad business is completely ridiculous. I've mostly made my mind up about him - not impressed.

Is he "deluded"? Or just trying to be positive, motivate & lead? If you were being held hostage who would you rather be in your rescue team? SAS mentals with the "Who dares wins" attitude? Or, the motivation Hoovers with the "We're doomed" attitude?
My guess would be that those in the "bomb squad" have demonstrated the latter attitude...hence exclusion from anything & everything. Regardless of ability - a positive "can do" attitude will at least provide a fighting spirit & we are going to need that! Whether he can keep them believing or not remains to be seen.

Bomb squad - if it's his decision, may come back to haunt him. Rest of the stuff, too soon to tell, but Fergie himself would have struggled to operate under these circumstances. :blue::blue:

Maybe historically but the offer of £400k with discussions about maximising their turnover was as good as they could make - they have some things to answer for but not a lot to answer for!!

He arrived on 8th March
The club went into administration on 28th March.

Between those 2 dates (on 12th March)... http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...istration-remains-threat-say-coventry-3013549
CCFC director Mark Labovitch today played down reports that there is a serious risk of entering administration next week as the legal action taken by Ricoh stadium company Arena Coventry Limited to recover rent debts from the football club nears breaking point.

We we awful at the end of last season and I was there at Walsall and it was embarrassing but it wasnt his team and he had not had the chance to stamp his mark on the team. You are all kneejerkers. Quick to label and judge. Give the guy a chance. Even now his hands are completely tied and hes being judged and its still not his team yet! But from what I am reading, the group is unified, positive, working hard, doing the right things on and off the ball etc and the players are content. In terms of the bomb squad, hes aboslutely right and Im glad hes made that decision. Some of them are over paid has beens and generally shit. I wonder how many of these fans who feel sorry for McSheffrey were booing him off the park last season?

Spot on. Consistency isn't a strong point of many of the regulars on here.

Completely agree he seems more than competent and like I said before he needs time this season more than anyone else before every game will be like an away game lack of motivation from crowd at sh#t fields and all off field distractions .
He's also had to come in and stamp his authority he hasn't got the budget to add to the squad so trim it bring in the talented youth and when the embargo is lifted use the extra money he will of freed from the so called bombed squad. for too many years players have been allowed to be complacent and drift in and out of form maybe this will send a rocket up them that it doesn't matter who you are if your not performing or up for the fight your not needed , to often egos get in the way I'd rather have a manager who the players feared rather than a door mat ..

Yes he has "Thornisms" however you always got the feeling that Thorn was doing everything off the back of a fag packet. Pressley at least seems to have a clue as to what he is doing. What I don't think we should be doing is falling into the Thorn trap of "Sir Alex couldn't bring success under these circumstances".

I like the fact that Pressley seems to be an advocate of innovative thinking but we could (and possibly already have) fall victim to this.

I'm not impressed with how he handled the Bomb Squad, but I love his youth policy. That could really benefit. Also, I heard that he detests the loan system. Unfortunately, the loan system has become a vital culture of the lower league game.

Totally agree, too many rulers of the roost and not enough fight or passion sometimes from certain individuals, needs all the backing away from home we can give.
