Reportedly on a 3 man shortlist with Brian McDermott and Robbie Fowler (?!!)

Also Kidderminster said he won't be taking up any role with them now which means he's in the running.

@poshboy64: Dmac102 Steve Presley for posh, plays exciting attacking footie, just what the doctor ordered after 3 years of dull boring footie, Zzzzzz

And the Peterborough chairman responded 'yes, talented for sure'

Yeah, good luck to him. His heart was in the right place and I always genuinely thought he wanted to do his utmost to make CCFC succeed. Didn't work out. Hope he gets something, somewhere.

For me he just chatted crap after every game trying to convince us no shots on target at home against Notts County was a great performance.

Maybe he thought if he kept saying it, it would become true.

So infuriating

Can't stand the bloke , don't wish him well ( apart from his health) and doesn't have the tactical nous to take any club anywhere anytime soon ..2nd worst manager in our history after thorn and posh can have him..thats them written off for playoffs this season then

One of he comments made after their last manager left related to 'not being able to get the most out of a young squad'. For this reason, I can see him being considered.

Doesn't mean I thought he was good at it here, but still. Never know, he may surprise us?

He is not as bad as some make out but he lost the plot here towards the end and should have gone earlier.

He deserves a lot of credit for overturning the points decuctions and the sixfields saga. Not to forget bringing Wilson into the first team when some were horrified.

His effort was obviously not an issue but it seemed like he had too many major shortcomings from tactics to handling his players. If he really has learnt from these lessons his enthusiasm will do the rest, but if he hasn't then it's going to be more painful watching.

Never liked him and never wanted him in the first place but he had very little support from the cretins above him, the football his team played towards the end was miserable and his team had no pace as soon as TM has had the chance he has filled the side with pace.

Wish Pressley well. He probably deserved the sack last season in truth but his efforts when the club were at Sixfields shouldnt be forgotten. He did an unbelievable job for the first half of that season under horrific conditions with the points deduction and the embargo. Last summer his recruitment would have been hugely impacted by still being at Sixfields. His last few loan signings improved but he seemed to panic a few times in the transfer market. In summary I think he will have learnt a lot from his time here and will only improve him as a manager.

I don't think pressley had much choice in the loans.. I am pretty sure waggot gave him a list from which he could pick from ,not the other way round.. that's probavly the reason mowbrays loans are working out better because he is picking his own loan players

He was a lucky manager who stumbled onto 2 players that took the league one goal scoring by storm I hope he finds something in Peterborough to help him, unfortunately I found him Nieve and tactically challenged when the going got tough and hopefully his man management skills have improved else I can see a mishap ointlaugh:ointlaugh:

That's because Pressley didn't have a clue, if Pressley had said no I want this player instead on the same wage then he would have been allowed.

The fact the scouting was shit/non existent under Pressley meant he had no choice as he couldn't give any alternatives to the players Waggott presented to him.

Everyone knew about Clarke. Wilson was a big bit of luck for him. He would have scored for any manager. The rest of our side was poor the way it was set up. We had the best strikeforce by far. Once one was sold and the other was out injured we were going games without a shot on target just to hear him tell us we were unlucky to lose. Or we outplayed the other side.

The one thing that always made me laugh was those that constantly attacked Thorn but defended SP. Neither were good enough.

Nice guy, heart was in the right place. However his management skills were terrible and that was clear when Leon Clarke and Callum Wilson left the club.

Do wish him all the best.

Fed up with hearing this. How did it sum him up? He loudly, publicly and correctly in my view called out the players for a shocking performance. Some think - perhaps rightly - that he should not have criticised the players in public. However, this was the one and only time he did this. In fact his usual method of operating was to praise the players even after performances that many of the fans found unacceptable (heavy defeat at Walsall away spring to mind). Anyway, what really bugs me is that in the intersection of the venn diagram of complaints about his man-management, a good number of the same folk have a go for backing the players after defeats and for criticising them after the Worcester embarrassment.

Its about having a balance mate, he constantly told us how amazing we played and then went off like a loose cannon after Worcester and then went back to saying how amazing we were. Tbh I didn't have a massive issue with his reaction to Worcester, he was a little over aggressive in his delivery and shouldn't have singled out players. However he then lost all credibility when he failed to follow up on it, the next game against Notts County we were atrocious and he tried to make out we were amazing, no players were subsequently banished and he was left to meekly go back and build bridges with the players he had singled out as he needed them.

Think it was more about he did it. His war like warrior impression just made him look stupidly ridiculous.

There is a way to be critical in public. Check out Tony Pulis's interview recently, one about Berahino and then yesterday diving incident by Morrison (I think it was). Not overly critical, but showed his displeasure in a proper professional way.

Yea I would agree with that, he clearly talented but not sure he if he a manager. The most bizarre thing about him was changing his entire system based on watching the w/c

That was slightly curious... especially as he'd shown himself flexible enough to change to 2 up front when he came here, having seen Clarke and Wilson in action.

So he wasn't always without flexibility!

It is entirely possible that the unremitting shit of the club and the circumstances ground him down, of course. He wouldn't be the first...

Anyway, if he does get the Peterborough job, hope he does well. Not entirely sure it's the best job to get in the world, but not the worst either. Probably a decent chance for him to show if his last half a season with us was a blip or not.

tbf though he's admitted he only went 2 upfront as he saw Borussia Dortmund do it in preseason,Dortmund were the in vogue team at the time, rather than using his own nous.

Peterborough just won 5-1 away from home. Do they really need a manager?
