PRESS RELEASE Supporters Direct Statement: Coventry City:

The world is watching 05/07/2013

For immediate release

Like everyone else who cares about the integrity of our national game and the health of our football clubs, we have become increasingly concerned at the events at Coventry City. At the moment, the future of the Football Club appears to be subject to a game of “chicken” initiated by a poorly performing City of London hedge fund – SISU Capital – trying to recover its losses from a ill-judged investment, and the owners of a currently empty stadium.

The Club itself remains in administration, with no final moves to exit the process, and yet the prospective owners are apparently already intent on playing fast and loose with a community’s football club. It is not just the supporters of Coventry City who are now watching closely what unfolds – including the decisions that will be made by The Football League in their position as a regulator. Fans across the country are watching, not least those from Wimbledon, Brighton and Hove Albion, Charlton, and any number of other clubs who have been moved or removed from their communities with little or no justification - See more at: http://www.supporters-direct.org/?p...ty-the-world-is-watching#sthash.KbAM5DNx.dpuf

NEWS Coventry City:

FSF Statement FSF STATEMENT:

Coventry City groundshare with Northampton Town Malcolm Clarke, Chair of the FSF, said: “This is a terrible day for Coventry City and its supporters. “To see your club ripped from the community from where it was born must be one of the hardest things a fan can go through. “34 miles might only be an hour’s drive but there’s clearly a gap of a million miles between the views of lifelong supporters and to venture capitalists Sisu. “Football is not a normal business, clubs are woven into the fabric of their area’s history.

The game’s governing bodies should act earlier to stop things ever going this far. “It’s quite clear to the FSF that clubs shouldn’t move without gaining approval from fans first. No Coventry City fans that we’ve spoken to back this move.”

Just forwarded to F365 asking them to write an article on our plight and proving the media doesn't just care about the 'EPL' clubs...
