We have secured Craine and CLingan on long term deals, so they are not going anywhere on a free next season....
We have also offered long term deals to all of the kids.........
McPake is on a pay as you play deal
Bell has agreed to a drop in wages
We cant afford to get anyone at the mo, so we are looking for a loan or two...
We are short on numbers, so the kids will play, give them your support as they are the future

I wouldnt be too unhappy about that !.

....................

Instead we get the "looking to get more bodies in", "wont be held to ransom", "we wont lie down"...just spin and cliche...

Just when you thought the day would never comes......

They were right "Charlton WILL NEVER happen again"

Remember where you were at 2pm on 4th August.......

I think its time to unveil.......

Orange Kens statement
'as you lot don't believe a word I say I thought I would Introduce you to 1 of our new signings er I mean Directors, Mark Labovitch, who was a spin doctor, er i mean advisor to Tony Blair. So everything will be transparent from now on, trust me'

Yeah, I noticed you complained about not enough bodies for the starting 11 and then complained about Bell (who looked quality in the new formation at the end of last season under AT) and McPake getting new deals to keep them at the club. Two players we paid a fee for and, therefore, is actually sensible by the board to get them tied down just in case.

As for the match on Saturday. I'm going to make a little sportmans bet with you we don't get spanked (I think you might have said 4-1 in another thread). If I'm wrong then fair enough, I'll hold my hands up, but I personally don't think our starting 11 is THAT bad. I also think these new Leicester players are completely overrated: Danns, Nugent, St Ledger, Schmeichel, Konchesky and that Fernandes they've just signed. No doubt, Leicester DO have a stronger first 11 and squad than us, I'm not kidding myself, but I think our first 11 can compete with anyone, especially under Thorns style.

Thorn loves his clichés way too much. If he says '90 minutes under his belt' once more, I'm going to blow a fuse.

From Player:

Thorn:
Bell & McPake signed this morning.
Everyone else who is out of contract has been offered a new contract, hopeful of them all signing.
Bell has been a revelation since Thorn took over, has a lot more to come.
McPake broke his back but should be OK now.

Murphy:
Enjoyable start to City career, knew a couple of the lads before.
Knew we were interested for a couple of years, but only knew we were had bid the day before he signed.
Says he's a "big presence" and "loud on the pitch" hopes to play well and has big shoes to fill in Westwood, but he has his own qualities.
Oggy is a "legend", a "good guy" and easy to work with, lots to learn from him.
Leicester is a big game, but one we can win.

That's about it.

That's what he said. I'd imagine that Platt and McSheffrey are not among those because they've only just had their extensions.

Nothing on the Player video certainly.

We have this debate with every manager the club has. People have to accept that football people speak in cliches and not make out that the current manager is a c*nt every time he opens his gob.

Well, if that is refereing to me, I am doing none of the sort...

Just want to hear the truth and not "happy with the lads we have got, had a great pre season and we wont roll over for anybody"....

Instead - "We just cant compete with fees and wages. This is a HUGE chance for some of the kids, and it has come early...They have the platform and its their time to shine. Get behind them, they are playing for your club and their futures !!!"

Full of cliches that sentance, but a lot clearer than the current smoke and mirrors !

I don't, he only signed an extension a few weeks ago! He's on a one year deal for a good reason: his fitness and form are still questionable.
