He doesn't seem very happy. Reminded me of some of the Robins ones we used to see when he got defensive. The interview was about half as short as normal as well.

Rule of thumb I have is is the manager seeing things you’re seeing and it’s a bit worrying how he sounds like some of the cope artists here pretending it’s just one bad game and not a two month run of poor performances. Maybe he’s just an “always be positive to the media” type but it comes across as deluded at times.

‘I think it’s clear Matt Grimes need some help in there as the other night in Norwich we were being overrun in the midfield area - you need to think about what’s happening’

Didn’t like that one did he Frank

You know what I mean, people who aren't used to losing get more bothered by it when it happens.

I'm glad he said that. Better than Bailey (or Gurney for that matter) asking about how great it will be to be backed by the wonderful sky blue army tomorrow in another sell-out.

Would anyone like Gurney trying to lecture you on football tactics? Especially someone as accomplished as Frank.

If someone who knew nothing about something I knew lots about questioned me I would simply use my extensive knowledge to answer the question.

Lampards biggest accomplishment as manager is getting us to the top of the league, it hardly puts him beyond reproach. Also he will not in fact shag you.

By badgering do you mean turning up to the press conference you hold willingly every week?

I used to teach, I met parents frequently and got asked questions. Weirdly enough I don’t think I ever once thought “who the fuck are these muppets badgering me??”

Pretty sure Lampard would scrap these press conferences if it was up to him

And I’d have scrapped parent teacher conferences, sadly we don’t get to pick and choose the bits of our job to do. This simping for someone acting up just because he’s famous is a bit weird.

What sort of answer did you want him to give out of interest? 'Cheers Rob hadn't thought of that, I'll change the line up for tomorrow off the back of this'?

He could try and explain his philosophy a bit, like he did when the fans booed us not pressing the keeper and he disagreed. He’s not above explaining his decisions.

In what way was he "acting up"

Simping because he's famous? Wot? I'm simping because he's managed my football club to the top of the league and a potential promotion back to the big time.

As bad as people may think Gurney and Bailey are, the interviewer for TNT last night asked Celtic's captain Callum McGregor if he'd be involved in the signing of players during the window.

If you watch some of Erling Haaland's interviews from a few years ago, if the questions came from a random journalist with no football experience he was just rude to their face. If they came from a respected former pro he opened up a lot more.

When you have someone with no footballing experience telling you your tactics are wrong and need changing, the reply of 'I'll do my job and you do yours' isn't unreasonable imo.

Glad he asked those midfield questions because it's what many fans have been talking about and see as a serious weakness.
The answer wasn't great tbh. Frank had a chance to be more open and talk about his outlook on formations and tactics and the squad.

I agree with most of that but let's be honest, the football fraternity can come over a bit entitled at times .

Haaland a) also comes across as a dick and b) is one of the best in the world at what he does and c) that random journalist probably isn’t the closest thing to a representative of the fans Man City have.
