Love Rushworth. POTS contender for me.

(yes I know we shouldn't with loan players)

An interesting player for @shmmeee on the Dean Austin criticism I think. Signing the best keeper in the league on loan, and trying to get him on a permanent for what now would be terrific business.

Yh, I think that ship sailed long ago.
I think a lot see him as POTS, same with previous teams that had him.
If/when we go up, brighton should be the 1st phone call imo

I honestly give up trying to explain my criticism of Austin. Carry on amongst yourselves you’re clearly having good fun.

Number one priority is to lock Rushworth down if we can. Best since Oggy.

I'm not trying to take the mick or be funny, just Rushworth was a player who didn't come up in any of that discussion.

He was POTS at a Championship club and playing for a Premier League team known for its ability in picking youngsters. I don’t think he’s a particularly amazing find. Well see what he’d cost but like Austin’s other “finds” I’d expect us to pay roughly what he’s worth or a bit more. £10m would fit that bill for me.

Interesting that. EMC should be back tomorrow or for Boro. Dovin out for the season. Rushworth would "100%" sign as he loves the club and the area...presumably only if we were promoted.

I do wish she would stop using the phrase "Sky Blue Army", makes me cringe every time. Just say "fans".

Me too. Turned it off at that point. Also what answer is expected to ‘How key are the Sky Blue Army?’

I know he's said it before "off record" but I think thats the first time he's actually admitted he wants to stay 100% "if we're promoted" in an interview.

Shame for Dovin, if we go up it is hard to see him ever playing for us again - Freak injury (for a goalkeeper) at a time he was starting to play well - Had he played the run in over calamity Brad we may well have been tied up in the Top 6 before the final game and could have rested a few

If we stay down he will probably make a tilt at the No.1 spot next season as there is no way Rushworth sticks around

Fucking love Rushworth. Cant remember the last time I was so desperate to sign a loan player (that includes O'Hare and Vik).

Lorna's best line of questioning too, I feel

Tbf at the time there was not much clamour for us to sign Vik permanently, if you go through the replies to his announcement a lot of people were indifferent

You don't think we do a good job of keeping a lid on wages vs. others? Fees paid is one part of it, but I'd be surprised if our wage bill wasn't mid table.

I still think you're wrong with the fees thing as well, tbf. Even if we accept what you think as true i.e. all worth what we paid, I think that's actually rare.

I think we'd get back what we paid or more for every single signing and when you factor in we've had three seasons from a lot of them, that's value.

The questions were much better and less antagonistic than Gurney’s.

I imagine if he continues in a similar vein and we manage to get promoted, it would cost us closer to double that figure.

I think the wages a) probably don’t help us attract the quality we need hence the super long contracts to anyone and everyone and b) aren’t Austin’s domain tbh.
