Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere but we've kind of been screwed with the prep for the WBA game.

They're at home tomorrow vs Watford so then say Sunday is a recovery day, they've then got Mon, Tues, Weds & Thurs as training days before our game.

We've got Hull away on Monday night so the team won't get home until the early hours of Tuesday which then would be the recovery day meaning we'd only have 3 full days between games for recovery/training when WBA will have had 5 days.

Doesn't seem fair at this point of the season.

Can't remember the game but we had a day extra on someone earlier in the season which we thought would swing things in our favour and needless to say, did it fuck!

Well we've got an extra days rest over them before our next game so it all balances out.

As I typed it, I was sure it's probably worked in our favour elsewhere this season so I guess it does even itself out. Just annoying that it affects us negatively when playing a direct rival for a PO place.

They will be rusty as they haven’t played for ages.

Or 2 pts behind with the chance to go above us. We’ll probably both draw our next games now

I think at this point in the season these sort of things matter less. Remember Robins saying that it's a sprint finish no matter what

And if we win, and keep winning, you want the games to come thick and fast

Our preparation is at a different level now & the short video of Lampard in the dressing room , after the Pompey game , shows what he & his coaches are instilling into the players …… let’s do this all together……. Forget an extra day off here & there , W Brom lost , we didn’t……& with another sell out skyblue army following at Hull , we are getting slowly over the line

This is what having performance directors, nutritionists, and sleep consultants should come into its own? Maximising rest, recovery and performance in these intense periods. We’re starting to have all that at the club and it’s surely a good thing. The professional way to run things in sport these days

Why are we playing hull on Monday?

It's a nightmare trying to work out fixtures here, look at this:
