Watching Fulham Chelsea at the moment and thinking do I really want to be involved in this rubbish?

Refereeing is just as bad as everyone else.

Even better, you stand around for 5 minutes only for them to still make a rubbish decision

The recent non penalty decisions have gotten me closer to being pro VAR than I've ever been. But nope, still not having it. Absolute wank, ruined the game.

I think refereeing is pretty bad at whatever level you find. Controversial opinion, but I think the way we treat referees in this country is slightly mad. We think they’re open to abuse, criticise every little mistake and yet it is administrators who are actually making the rules. No wonder referee standards are so bad in this country. Why would you want to do the job?

My prediction is that some sort of 'superleague' for all the big brand teams is inevitable in the next 10-15 years, and once they all fuck off and take VAR with them we can rebuild football the way it is supposed to be with fans at the centre

Personally worried that VAR is making the referees worse if that’s possible. Feel like half of them use it as a get out of jail free card which just means they bottle big decisions

Leeds more than holding their own with more than a few players they used in the Champ.

Leeds were a parachute club, not comparable to us really.

True, we'd have to do a full rebuild to stand a chance. It could be a long bleak season. Just need to try and enjoy the journey and think what the money could build long term

Terrific game at Newcastle. The pace of it is unbelievable and a great goal to win it

Leeds have really impressed me this year too.

Stach, Bijol, Gudmundsson and DCL have all been phenomenal signings. If we are to go up this year, we need to be pulling something similar out of the bag.

I watched the Burnley Man U game . Absolute garbage. Burnley playing for and celebrating a draw. Glad they're going down but another parachute season , of which they'll more than likely yo yo up again.

Can't believe United didn't kill that game, they've just got no killer instinct

They scored a good second goal but so did Burnley TBF. I wouldn't want us to play like Burnley, they're so negative

If we went up your need bring so much more power and pace into the squad.

I think we have 3 maybe 4 who could handle it. The rest are second team ... almost

IMHO the players who could be part of the squad (not necessarily first choice) if we make it up are:
Rushworth (if we could get him permanently)
Dovin
Thomas
Kitching
Woolfy
Mve
Kkh
Grimes
Torp
Sakamoto
Rudi
Emc
Bta
Wright
Simms

most would be cover, but I’d keep them in the squad - although I think at least a couple would be sold.

Don't get me wrong, I want us to get promoted and if we manage it I'll be over the moon but PL football is absolutely sh*t.

The league is so sterile, football is generally money driven but the PL is another level. You have to spend hundreds of millions to be even remotely competitive and unless you have a billionaire owner which strips the soul out of the club, a few poor mistakes (ie: Leicester) and you're in deep trouble.

I haven't started on the media circus, 'experts' & 'pundits', VA f*cking R, KO times, etc.

I could forgive all of that, all of it, if the games weren't such a bore. That's the worst of it. They're just a big, sad, anticlimactic bore.

Watching games like these should get people excited about Esse. Good enough to play at Prem level. He needs the minutes at his age but is used to games that are fast. His replacement is their 35m record signing Brennan Johnson. If he can pull a Prem defence apart he should enjoy himself against some Championship donkeys.

My main gripe with the premiership is Im assuming I follow will stop so I'll go from being able to see every match home and away to every televised match. That's going to suck.

he’s barely played in the prem though? Don’t get me wrong I’m excited about him signing for us but he struggled to step up to the next level hence why he’s joined us

It’s not the refereeing that is the issue in the prem. it’s just that the football is incredibly dull. 80% of every game is 10 yard passes exchanged across the back 4.

May not be so easy next time - Which is why we have to go up this year
Next years championship could include the following 7 teams who will all expect promotion, before you even begin looking at the strong championship teams

Wolves
West Ham
Burnley
Southampton
Leicester
Blues
Wrexham

Is this the same Grimes who was hustled out of the game by last season’s P’ship failures Ipswich very recently?

Yes mate, the very same . However, he wouldn't get the same attention in the premiership because he'd hopefully be playing alongside his equals. In this league he stands out and being found out unfortunately.
