Is Joe Cole actually that good? He is 36 and got zero pace. Just saying.

Are we all exited by just the name?

He's 33 and at no point was he some kind of glorified sprinter.

Whilst I will trust Mowbrays judgement, I would be worried about signing Cole. He's well past his sell by date, and hasn't really done anything to note when he's made his more recent moves (Liverpool, Villa etc). Whilst I get that those clubs were, and still are playing premiership football, out of him and Eagles, I suspect he would be the one that would turn out to be a Sherwood / De Zeeuw signing, just on a lower and more reasonable wage.

This is what I was trying to say. He is 34 next month and a months loan. Not too sure myself. Not knocking it just not convinced.

I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E. At 33 he is not too old - and Joe Cole really does have ability!

Well fook me. And I p*ssed on peoples fireworks 7 years ago saying this wouldn't happen. Apologies to those who I doubted 7 years ago on the CET forum.

My bad...

This is too funny. Do you not realise just how many levels above league 1 joe cole has played at. You cannot argue with his ability.

Ricketts is 34 already and he's doing alright, I don't think age is all that much of a factor.

He was on the bench for the FA Cup final last year and scored in the premier league!

No I'm sure you're right. I guess put ricketts in the premier league at villa and he would struggle and be a non entity like Coke is atm.

Now put him in league 1 in a good side and he could be great. Armstrong must be buzzing.

You dont need to be fast zippy and athletic in this league with the amount of quality on the ball Cole has, sit back and enjoy it whilst it lasts FFS, its an absolute top signing , age is not the factor here, class is permanent.

Not signing 'til Monday. And then only for 35 days. Perfect way to disrupt the team ahead of a big game. Typical SiSU ;-)
