Tried a new strategy this week. There seemed to have been a lot of draws lately, so I forecast every game a draw. So there was only one draw. Grrrrr.

I currently have the greatest number of 3-pointers, the lowest number of 1-pointers and the highest number of 0 pointers. I'm not sure what this means. It seems my tactics are flawed as I am 12th in the ranking.

I just enter my predictions several weeks ahead. You can always edit them later if you want. Just remember to click SAVE after every change otherwise it throws all your changes away!

Well I went over my predictions for today's games last night since I had made them pretty hastily a few weeks ago. Spent a lot of time examining the league stats, current form etc.
I changed three of my earlier predictions based on this careful analysis. The result? Every one of my earlier predictions was right and I changed them all to be wrong. Even had CCFC to lose but had changed it to a draw. Grrrr.

I did some calculations and I strongly suspect that Houchens Head who is currently top is forecasting every game 2-1. I calculated the number of points you would have if you did that and it is exactly what he has (407). His 3-pointer count is also 59 - exactly the number of 2-1 wins.
I'm not saying this is cheating, since its within the rules, but it is hardly in the spirit of trying to forecast each game.
I guess it proves that no-one can out forecast blindly predicting the most common result for every game.
You probably need to adjust the points awarded for various results to counteract this flaw.

Sour grapes before the end of the season?

Are you going to pull up those that do a draw in most games? They get minimum 2 points each result. Or how do you get a lack of 1 points and plenty of 2 points.

If you think that 2-1 happens a lot get down the bookies. You will clean up if it happens.

TBF I don't think I've predicted a 2 goal victory for anyone all season! My tactics are vaguely based on stats without being arsed to actually look into it. I only got a few points today and HH pulled away, so he's defo doing something right and fair play to him!

No. Merely pointing out he predicted a 2-1 result for every single game. I'm glad you think that's 'a bit of fun'.
If everyone predicts a 2-1 result for every game in the prediction league next season, everyone will come out equal.
It does not require any thought or talent, just make your predictions on the first day and forget about it for the rest of the season.

Your proposed technique of forecasting 1-1 for every game would fall short. There have been 70 1-1 draws giving you 210 points, 43 0-0, 21 2-2 and 9 3-3. Adding all the 2-pointers would give you an additional 146 points making 356. But forecasting every game 2-1 gives 407 points because you get a large number of 2 and 1-pointers for all the other home wins.

So everyone would know the team that would win 2-1 each game?

I would take a guess that 1-0 or 2-0 happens about the same. And you have the games where you would get more goals than that like top against bottom.
