Looks a nice ground, safe standing along the pitch looks good.

I watched them play Dortmund for Reus' last game and they got dicked 4-0. Only player that looked half decent was Marvin Mehlem who played in the 10.

Do we think there will still be a pre season in Spain/Portugal or similar?

Friendlies are best avoided generally. Tempted by this though as love Germany and German football experience. They had a tough time last year in Bundisliga with instant relegation.

Yes absolutely. Apparently the only way they would do a deal with us was if we flew to Germany to play them in a friendly game.

I reckon so, usually the pre season tours are done as early as possible.

Interesting fact - Fraser Hornby is at Darmstadt. His previous club was Oostende - Sakamoto’s - remember the comment that Cov went to scout another player & Sakamoto drew their attention

It’s over 6 hours mate and that’s with no traffic or stops. You’ve also got a 3 hour drive (if coming from Cov) and a 40 min tunnel crossing before Calais.

Thats more realistic. I was thinking 10 hours door to door.

It’s actually a great road trip if a few of you to share the driving. We did it in 2006 for the World Cup.

I was there a couple of weeks ago as a friend of a friend lives there (Cov lad).

Around by the station and red light distract is like a scene from a Zombie movie with crack heads left right and centre but the rest of the city is lovely.

All the bars around Rittergasse make for a great night out!!

Yes I agree. I lived in Germany for a long time during my Army years and used to love driving on the Autobahns at 120+ mph. I'm going over for Euros and looking forward to it.

We did too!

Although somehow went via Belgium when going to Stuggart from Calais but did get to drive through Baden Baden which was stunning.

Then did Frankfurt and Gelsenkirken before we got knocked out and had the long drive home with 5 stinking lads in the back of a yellow VW van.

Mad to think it’s nearly 20 years ago.
