Spot on.I know it is difficult to choose your pre-season games when you want them, but I favour a slow progression from poor to, middling to top sides. I feel money plays a part now. Playing a lower side with a player we may be interested in, also has its attractions.
Just leave out teams that kick us. We have had Nuneaton and that side abroad we played last season who were animals.
Not sure this idea of playing some teams that are way above us (Monaco) is productive. I notice very little post match comment from Frank on that one.
Hopefully but some on here have already received them. I have emailed the ticket officeI rang the club about my digital St Pauli tickets and they said it will be sent in the week preceding the game. Suspect tickets for the Betis game will be sent today.
I don’t think there’s any correlation between pre-season form and regular form really. As long as the players show up match fit on day 1 of the season and are well drilled in whatever tactic we’re playing then it’s been productive.I know it is difficult to choose your pre-season games when you want them, but I favour a slow progression from poor to, middling to top sides. My children are autistic like myself. The last time i went through this was with my youngest lad. His first game was years ago during the pre season in Italy. Wasn't a problem other than the constant visits to the toilet as he was 4. The first problem came when the season started. Too many people and he kept his hands over his ears. We left on about 70 minutes when he said he wanted to go. But in the way home he told me hiw much he enjoyed it. Got the ear muffs which didn't stop all the noise which worked a treat. After a few games he got used to it and refused to wear them. He then started telling everyone to stop swearing as it's naughtyWe're taking our 6 year old to his first game, against Pauli. He's autistic and struggles with noise, but is adamant he wants to go to a game. We chose this one as we don't mind if we have to sack it off and leave early. Fully expecting to probably leave at half time. I think boredom will likely kick in by then, or the noise will be too much.
Good luck with it. Agree with the other poster; get plenty of photos. Their first game is always a special memory.

There's no solid rules for you. As you will know every autistic child is different. Maybe take a favourite teddy, toy or even a book. Just be ready for anything. With him being keen to go you might have it easy.
Good luck and enjoy.
I'm having a brainfart too. Received my St Pauli tickets a couple of days ago by emailHopefully but some on here have already received them. I have emailed the ticket office
The first player my lad met was Maddison who was only a lad himself. He loved it when he started playing for us.We have his ear defenders and have told him to bring a teddy of his choice. We really have no idea what to expect. He's adamant though that he's going to meet his favourite player - he randomly latched on to Jamie Allen, who will hopefully make an appearance - so we need to try and manage those expectations.
If we manage 70 minutes like you did, we'll be chuffed. Let's see. I'm excited for him. He's already wearing his shirt with Allen on the back this morning; I think it's going to be washed a few times this week!

You're going to be a very proud dad by the end of the dayAnd best of all you will have something to share with each other.
Yes Betis will be streaming it live on their YouTube channel.Sadly not able to attend matches any more, due to ill health. Anyone know if the 2 pre-season friendlies this week will be shown anywhere or if commentary will be on CWR? Our only lifeline to CCFC these days.
Well at least the entire country now subscribes to a VPN so they can watch pornMay have to change vpn like the Monaco game to be able to watch.
They were loud but it was a bit weird. When they scored they didn't even stop to celebrate - they just carried on singing the song.Does anyone have any info on the possible St Pauli support. Are the numbers and noise likely to be anything like the Werder Bremen fans…If so, might invest in some ear phones myself, those drums pounding non stop .
That will be a good bit of trade for Byatts thenApparently some of the St Pauli fans are heading here (as per their forum)
Don't know much about it. Similar to Dhillons?

Its decent in there, similar to Dhillons but quite a lot smaller, not the same atmosphere, but the beer is about 10x betterApparently some of the St Pauli fans are heading here (as per their forum)

There are endless examples of poor pre-seasons and good league performances. Also the opposite.I don’t think there’s any correlation between pre-season form and regular form really. It was essentially a behind closed doors friendly wasn’t it? I don’t know if there’s much to be read into the lack of a big Lampard interview afterwards. If Frank had given us his in-depth thoughts on the Monaco performance like he does with most other games, I would have been happy. Bad day at the office or we just wanted to try some different things? It really was a woeful performance against a side who are not only light years ahead of us, but played quite a few of their young players. I struggle to think of a City player who came out of that game with any credit.
Does anyone know if the Betis game is going to be live streamed anywhere??
Going to fun trying to get there in time after work. Hopefully not to many people stood around staring at the new ticket readers like its alien technology.Just a reminder that game vs Real Betis is a 7pm kick-off
Behind closed doors means nothing these days. Monaco streamed it, the local press covered it and everyone I know either watched it or saw the highlights. It was essentially a behind closed doors friendly wasn’t it? I don’t know if there’s much to be read into the lack of a big Lampard interview afterwards.
