Just wondered how everyone felt about pre match TV coverage of matches in general and if you watch it, when do you do so from? From the onset or part way through?

I honestly can't be bothered with it all

Sporting Lisbon are playing Arsenal tonight and the coverage started on Amazon at 18.30. The game kicks off at 20.00.

Even with the City, sometimes I don't watch it all. I will watch it if it's 30 mins or less for us, but if it's an hour I wait and cut in about half way through. Same with England.

There's just so much padding and repetition.

All I want really is the team news and thoughts of the manager(s).

So, wondered what everyone else thinks and how involved you get in it all

Literally just the game. Spend half time going to the loo or getting a drink etc, then turn it off once the final whistle has gone.

Same, pretty much. I do like to hear FL's post match thoughts for us though.

Everything else, it gets switched off

I watch it for cov or big games. Not otherwise

Bayern just scored a lovely goal. Don't bother with the arsenal game!

Agree for big games, especially tournament format as you have route to the final stuff. Otherwise binding it off all together IMO.

You're correct, never bother with the arsenal game! Every time I've watched them the football has been turgid, proper safety first football all the time, they play with zero instinct.

It's painful. Post game is also pretty bad but at least there are things to discuss.

Can't stand all the analysis on Match of the Day either between matches, always fast forward it.

Thanks for circling the player so I can see who scores the goal...

I turn match on 2 minutes before the start, turn it off for half time and back on in time for 2nd half & usually don't bother with after match stuff either.

Just wonder how many DO watch then. People I talk to are the same as me and just watch the game.

I'd had this conversation with others too and most just tune in for the game. Makes you wonder why they spend so much money on the presenters and analysts.

We wondered how on earth Lineker was the highest paid BBC employee when it seemed hardly anyone in our group actually watched the analysis on MOTD.
